RSX, Celica, Civic, Mazda3,

Hey evom,
i was looking at getting a second car as a daily driver, I really like the RSX type s and was really considering it as my daily driver but the new si is nice too. Is there any RSX owners on this site that can give me a pro and cons list on the RSX Type s. Thanks guys.

- acura reliability, though tranny problems are a noted issue amongst a good portion of the cars
- good looks, good interior
- comfortable
- fun engine to rev
- responds well to mods (relatively speaking)
- fwd good in rain
- good gas mileage
- low maintenance

- fwd
- may raise your insurance significantly
- may be a target for theft
- everyone and their mother has 4 of them in all different colors
- torque? what's that?

Thanks man, I know there are tons of people driving around with RSX's but I really like the looks of the 05 models compared to the other cars I looked at. Yes I know there are theft after the k20 motor , just gotta keep it garaged up when it's not being used. Thanks again and yes front wheel blows at times but that's why I have my Evo

Try getting an older Si or GSR, since its your 2nd car you can save yourself some money. I seen those go for no more than 10 G's and also will be cheaper on insurance since they are older cars but if money ain't the issue then go on ahead bro.

If a 4-door is an option, look at the TSX 's. Good power and luxury too !

If you're looking for a 6 speed, then the RSX Type S, the 06 Si, the SER Spec V, and the TSX are pretty much it. I would personally go for the Si, since it has the 6 speed plus LSD. Personally, I'd have a really hard time choosing between the two. Either one will raise the insurance rate. The Si is smaller and the dashboard takes some getting used to. The Type S has better seats, better dash, but I don't like leather on "performance" seats like that, and I wish I could take off some of the equipped stuff to make it a little less expensive. Anyways, here are some numbers for you if that helps your decision.

Here's Edmunds test of the 06 Si:
7.2-second 0-60
15.1-second 1/4-mile
67.8-mph slalom speed

And this is Road And Track's numbers for the 05 RSX Type S:
0-60 6.70 sec.
1/4 Mile 15.00 sec.
Slalom 67.10 mph

yeah, motor trend said the SI is about as good as the RSX-s but costs a good amount less. you're paying for the name with the rsx and some luxury features, if you don't need those things, get the SI
