I totally agree that it is a VERY fun car to drive. I just think that I want to go force induction for once. I almost boosted my b16 in my 00 Civic Si. I just got so hung up on the Evo for the past few years that I can't get my mind off of it-such a better car with everything that I would do to a car. Suspension, brakes, turbo, racing seats, AWD, etc...can't go wrong even if it means more maintenance. Even though the R32 is flat out sweet I don't know if I would be happy with the lack of useable space, comfort, and eventually the power in the long run. I think that the main thing is that the Evo drives so easily and is so comfortable that even though the R32 is powerful and luxurious-it is kinda small for 25-30k for a hatch. I can get a 4-door performance sedan that will cover all of my wants now...and my needs later!

I’m contemplating on trading my R for new a Evo IX. I love the R however it does lack in the HP department a bit. It’s a tough decision. I take the R to HPDE events (Lime Rock NHIS etc), taking the EVO to one and you have to worry about Mitsubishi finding out and voiding your warranty.

The “Voiding the Warranty” issue is one of the things holding me back right now. My other option is a getting a turbo which would bump me up to roughly 340 all wheel hp.
But it’s not a cheap upgrade http://www.eiptuning.com/eip/r32_turbo_systems_01.html

It’s a tough call, both have their strengths and weaknesses.

my neighbor has an R32 and let me take a spirited drive(with him in it of course). It actually impressed me, pretty quick and smooth, rides and handles nice. the interior is really nice also. I,m not putting this car down in any way but when i got in my evo to leave(06BR350IX#005) the VW felt like a kiddy car compared to the EVO.
