MazdaSpeed 6 and the mysterious power loss issue
if that car made the power its advertised at it would be a helluva car. I,m talking about the power to the ground. When i test drove one i was really excited about it until i opened it up,or tried to. The salesman told me to drive it as hard as i wanted to and we were on country backroads. The car felt slow and soft naturally because i was coming out of my 03 evo 320whp. But honestely the car really impressed me overall. If i wasn,t comparing it to an evo i would say it was a nice riding, handling, driving, etc. etc. UNDERPOWERED car. That day i test drove an sti,bmw 330, ms6,g35sedan,350z. And every time i got back in my car they all felt slow and soft in every dept. Our beloved evo,s are truely incredible cars.I,m driving an 06 BR350 IX#005 now and couldnt be happier with it. But back to the mazda (LOL) if that car had the right amount of power like it should out of all the cars i test drove that day i would,ve picked the mazda for sure. drive one and you,ll see what i mean
Heat soak? they need a hood scope as with the WRX to feed air to the IC, or stick it in the front some where. I met a guy with a wrx conversion to his non turbo impreza with no hood scope, he had a similar problem. IAT goes up, timing gets pulled, fuel dumped in.
Anybody have a clue how these cars are selling? I finally saw one parked and it looks pretty good. (It had a crazy long antenna, much longer then ours - don't know if it was stock.) I have yet to see one on the road. But when I went by my local dealer they had like 8 or 9 sitting there looking dusty and undriven.
