E30 M3
The E30 M3 is an awesome car. I just sold mine last year.
EvoIIIM3- were you on S14.net? I remember that car from there. You are right, the Evo is the only car sold today that can compare to the E30 M3. They are wonderful cars. I wish I could have kept mine.
Here's mine: (1991 E30 M3 81,000 miles at time of pictures)

E30 M3 is my favorite M of all time. I am looking for one that needs some help. I want to do something a little different under the hood. I keep thinking Nissan black top, but my buddy says go with a newer M3 motor. The balance and handling is hard to beat and much like the EVOs, it is pure raw sports car.

I truly miss my car. It was one of the hardest things to sell.
Guys, if you think the EVO is expensive, just walk on by the E30 M3, it's the same price to maintain as a older Porsche 911. My header alone was $1100!
Yes, they are super light, and very nimble! Mine was 2700 with me in it (210lbs)
If only the M3 had the super quick steering rack of the EVO!

You are right about the cost of the M3. I put on the Split Second MAF unit which cost me $1,200 and I had planned on buying a carbon airbox at the tune of what $1,800 or so? Then there are the cams
at least $800 - $1,000 per cam! Shoot, the cost of a complete Turner Motorsports 2.5l engine was $15,000.
That was one selling point to my wife with the Evo. I could honestly tell her that it would cost way less to mod the Evo than the M3.

Well the MAXX with the DTM intake was so worth the money! Removing the AFM gives you the biggest gains every where!
My cams were $3600!
So in the end, I spent $34k on the engine to get 305hp & 250torque.
But how many non forced induction, 2.5l 4-bangers can beat a Z06 around the track?
I know you guys will doubt me, but even modded EVO's were not as fast on the track, NO I'm not talking about 1/4mi times.
You know, the EVO is cheap, in every way, has a warranty, and is just fun to drive.
Almost has the sole of the E30.
