How unreliable are these cars? I heard they are one of the biggest pain in the *** cars to own. I drove a 1994 TT and wow that was sick.

main killers are heat and oil starvation. Apex seals can be a problem only if you don't address the main killers. I had chance to own a 360 hp for 22K with low miles and flawless paint with JDM headlights but he said it would only get 9mpg so I passed.

multiple things to remember when building a rotary engine,
1- if you dont know how the motor works (dont attempt moifiying anything yourself)
2- A rotary engine is a very reliable engine if it is built by a professional ROTARY Builder.
3- Rotary engines are Big money cars, meaning "you have to pay to play"
4- Once a professionaly built motor is tuned by a professional Rotary tuner, you can kiss a 4g63 goodbye.
I have owned multiple cars with a rotary, custom FD and an rx-8
I prefer the 20b 3rotor, or a custom 4 rotor with big twins
