haha...that sh*t is funny. A similar thing happened to me when my buddy's dad first got his viper a few years ago...that is when I firsted learned how expensive calm shell hoods are.

Sorry to be off topic.

The positive note of your post is that you made it safe.

I don't think he was saying anything bad about the handling, more like the car has a lot of power. I almost lost complete control of my EVO, man you do have to watch it, these turbo cars are powerful, AWD helps, but got to be careful.

It would be interesting to put it on a diet and drop 500 lbs...you don't see many around any more.

Remind me to download a few pics of my buddy Trevor. This guy has one of the top 3 fastest VR4/Stealth in the country, he runs 10.9@133 here in AZ with no NOS. His car weights just around 3500lbs after the weight reductions he did(fiber glass hood, buddy blub 15lbs rims, single exhaust, carbon fiber replacement roof, racing seats, coilovers and other minor stuff)

That was a 300 crank hp Mustang, it was Al's Shelby GT-H Hertz rental car that he put int on the dyno on his own.. He also gave me a ride, we did 3 digit numbers on a test drive we went for, not too fast but not too slow if you know what I mean.

The car was loaded, 500lbs(me and Al) plus A/C on, plus automatic tranny, plus heat(nearly 95degress) plus altitude. But the car was still torquy

Only Al would put a rented car on a dyno... If Hertz only knew. That makes me laugh my *** off.

Since this morning (20 minutes ago) I have a clear indication of how fast this Stealth R/T is. I was able to test in Mexico my car agaisnt a bone stock 04 STI.

from a roll 10-95mph I had a small lead(1/2 car length). Another 40-85 mph from a roll showed that I had a tiny lead of 1/3 of a car length.
This STI is the same STI in page one. The guy runs on his STI 14.0@96-98 at SIR all the time with 2.0 60' .

I am very curious to see what numbers I would run at SIR (3100ft). Any thoughts? I think 13.9-14.2@97-100

my .2c

Took the car to the track(SIR last night, Tucson 3100ft), car weighted 3750lbs bulleye with 5 gallons on the gas tank and spare tire and floor mats removed. That mean with full tank of gas and spare tire probably around 3900lbs.

First run of the night(I never launched this car before):

13.99@97.61 with a 1.931 60'
second run added 2 gallons of 100oct 13.92@100.88 also 1.9 60'
Third and lat run 14.0@100

My boost peaks to 12 and drops to 8psi. My first run(13.99@97.6) was in 4th gear, the second and third pass I finished in third gear.

These were some other cars that ran also:

I am not here to trash no one, I am here to perhaps find out an explanation.
Are the GTO so awfull at the track or is only the driver. I would expect a 400GTO to be at least a high 13s or low 14s car.

How much a GTO weights, has anyone weight them already. My Stealth weighted 3750lbs on the spot without spare tire and low on gas.

I came back from the track last night (SIR) there were two 400hp GTO(dual exhaust,18"rims,hood scops).
The silver GTO ran 15.7@94., the Black GTO ran a best of 14.6@99.

What I am saying is that even if you burnt out on the launch or if you bog down don't you think these cars should be faster than that.

Trans Am Ram air(97ish bodystyle 6 speed) ran 14.5@95.
SRT- 4 15.0@93 Well modded
SRT-4 13.1@118 Super modded
WRX 14.4@94 well modded
Blue Evo 9 13.3@106 modded 315whp/308tq MD
Avin Evo 8 12.3@112 modded 350 ish whp/360tq MD 3076 Turbokit
Lighting white 14.5@95
new Golf GTI @14.9@95 cat back
400 hp silver GTO 15.7@94
400hp black GTO 14.6@99
99 Firebird Firehawk 14.0@100(6 speed)

a bunch of Mustangs GT all of them from 95-2001 low to mid 15's 90-95mph
Nissan 300ZX non turbo 16.2@86 17.2@79 16.2@86
