The new Honda Fit
id suggest you get the fit, i was reading motor trend and out of all the 15,000 dollar range sedans the honda fit won, even beat the yaris. yaris got 3rd and kia got 2nd i believe...
the interior on the fit is also amazing, the guages and dash looks so sexy

it's cute and functional, i like the ideas that you can really SIT BACK AND RELAX in that Fit.
i want to sometimes carry a bike with it to a park or something, i guess it will do it and also save my gas money at this time....

i know this thread is about the yaris and the fit... but my wife just bought an 05 outlander... seats 5 comfortably... its the LS model.. AWD, 2.4 Mivec 4cylinder SUV... the catch is that she gets better gas mileage than i do with my RA and she drives farther to work... i think she paid about $18k(that included some neg. equity though) for it... had 13k on it... probably get a used one with a little more mileage for 15-16k and if you find a certified one you get the extended warranty
offered for awhile and the free maintenance schedule...
She drives about 40 miles a day(to and from work) and can usually go a week to a week and half without filling up... If i can keep the pedal off the floor I can usually go about a full week(mon - sun) on 92 Premium
The yaris isn't a bad looking car IMO...
whatever you decide good luck

I was thinking about getting the HOnda Fit too, I think its the best small car, has really high MPG based on EPA, handling is decent and well u get the idea. Besides car and driver website rated the FIT #1 among all the small cars 15000 MSRP, Nissan Versa SL came in second place.

Go outside of Cali for the Fit. We got my mom one last summer for $200 under MSRP. She loves it. Went from a 530i Touring to it and misses nothing.
The 5-speeds are much more peppy than the slushbox as you can imagine, although after test driving the auto, Honda has a very nice paddle shift setup, you can hold it in gear all the way up to redline.
There's no real reason to spring for the Sport package, the radio isn't that much better and the bodykit is fugly.

The Fit is a hell of a lot of car for 15k. (Same can be said of the yaris, versa etc)
I sat in one, and it is very spacious. The paddle shifting in the auto is something you don't usually see in a 15k car. The seat configurations are pretty cool. The front seat locks into the rear and makes for a really nice lounge-seat

yeah I possibly will be getting this vehicle by the end of august or september, by that time i'll be in utah
mazda 3 hatch for me. drives very well and has decent power plus feels solid.
i will most likely purchase one for my wife in a couple weeks.
i tried out the fit , but was not convinced it was as high quality as the mazda.
there is a mazda dealer in long beach area on cherry ave. that is slashing $ 4,000.00
off all 07 mazda 3's in stock.
