This is someone who has completed this particular project: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2557281

One does not simply walk into creating a VR-4. The Mitsubishi Legnum VR-4 can be had for $22,000 in Australia. You then have to import it. There are a few for sale that I have seen. Other than that, I would advise you not to do it. This will not ever end the way that you think it will.

It would be cool to do but its really not worth the headache or the $.i have a 01 Galant that ive been working on for some time now.Has all of the exterior vr4 bumpers and lights all around and looks alot better then the Galants made in the US.If i were you just put a evo ecu in and drop a evo 8 motor in it.

U have a choice for the transmission u want to go with this.you can do a Eclipse 2000-2005 manual swap or you can do a evo tranny and convert it to fwd.

the path i went is 2.4l with evo 8 head and im starting my awd conversion with the evo tranny and transfer case very soon.So you can really do alot to this car but all you need is time and $$.

Good luck on this project. You are better off buying a Legnum VR-4 and importing it. I know that you have probably been told that time and time again by people who know what it takes to pull this kind of thing off. However, if you are still dead set on this, have at it. This thread is old, dead, and should be closed.

(By the way, you might want to have a gander at a 6g74...just a thought...that is what all the cool kids are doing...including RPW).
