My dad bought one yesterday and it's nice-looking for a Camry. It has a 3.5L V6 with 268 hp, and it still gets 22/31 mpg!!! Toyota claims that it reaches 60mph in 6.5s with the 6-Speed automatic. No thanks... its a big soft boat and everyone and their moms (literally) will have one. Camry's have come a long way though, used to have a 91. My dad used to have a 90 with the V6 and 5spd... learned to drive stick on it... ah the memories

 

Will be interesting to see how they do in NASCAR next year.

 

my parents have a 04 camry v6 and omg its so comfortable and smooth..but the problem is the 1st gear on the auto tranny isnt good.. ours feels like its slipping while we gas it while the cars moving, and down hills the RPMS are crazy sometimes going to 3,500 rpms down to 600rpms without the a/c on...anyone know what the problem is??

 

Yes, the ride is quiet and the V6 is nothing but a murmur but it's cool to see it accelerate that fast to 60 while still being quiet.

 

Ummm...street cars and NASCAR racers have essentially zero in common mechanically speaking. The last thing these things are is "stock".
