1990 Plymouth Laser

hey everyone. i recently bought a 1990 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo. it has a DOHC 2.0L with a turbo. i have a question though. when heavy boosting, the motor either skips a beat, or something, but there is a cut off, and a split second of nothing at all, then it kicks back in with a huge shutter. now, i dont know if maybe its a safety thing. but it seems like the previous owner did something. i just cant figure out what would be causing this. when going through the boost smoothly, its fine, but as soon as u get on it, it skips, and backfires and shutters. im afraid of breaking the harmonic balancer again which i just replaced. please, ne info at all about this will be useful. i was also wondering if anyone knew of a reputible tuner shop in the MA, NH, VT, ME area. thanks again

Fuel Cut.

Go ahead and purchase a Boost gauge and a Good MBC and make sure that you are running 15PSI and NO MORE.

Then go here.... www.dsmtalk.com

Then modify.

Hallman MBC, works perfectly. Buschur has so many parts for that car it isn't funny. You haveing a 1990 motor it is infact STRONGER then the Evo motor with thos big rods. Pistons stink though. Look for a 16G upgrade and what mods are on it now? Link to the sale?

i will take some pics and get em uploaded of the engine bay. i mean, i know enough, and i know what im talking about, just not with this motor. i mean, just for right now, i got some money to drop in it. but its limited. probably have 500 or so. already put about a grand into it. i bought it when i saw it on the side of the road. as of right now, from just looking at it, doesnt have barely any upgrades. k and n filter. chrome piping. konig 18-8.5"'s wrapped in just purchased Kumho ECSTA SPTs 215-40R18. brand new radiator. brand new OEM exhaust from the cat-back (plan on replacing whole thing with better aftermarket exhaust, preferably 3 inch, any ideas?????), ummm. new tranny and clutch put in by previous owner. theres one thing that i dont know about. there is a valve, or what looks like one in the engine bay. its blue and says turbotrix (i think) on the side. will double check tomorrow. it has an adjustment on it (for boost im assuming, thats what it says) any ideas of what this is??? thanks again. i will look at those suggestions now.
