Yes. You also have to change the guage cluster since the SOHC cluster cannot read DOHC signals properly. It's on the internet or go to 240sx.org . . .

Do you have an extra dohc head lying around and do you plan to do your own work. The 15 extra horses doesn't seem worth it unless your planning to build up the motor and put a turbo. If thats the case, why not do an SR swap?

Just do an SR20DET swap or if you want a cheap DOHC, get a 91+ 240SX. 89 and 90 model year 240SXs came with KA24E engines while later models came equipped with KA24DE's. I'm thinking swapping heads would probaby cost the same if not more as swapping in a KA24DE.

assuming u have enough money, find all the rare parts for the swap, and money for maintenance.

You do know that a SR motor + tranny will cost you over +2200 bucks on average. It was about 1800 bucks during 2000.

For the RB motors, unless RB20, it's going to cost a small fortune. Just because some had done the swap, it doesn't mean all will do it with ease like a B16 swap into a civic.

Also, the KA motor is known to be a goog platform for being TC'ed. For every one sucess story, there will be platoon of KA motor owners that had the motor go kaboom from silly mistakes and ill tuning.
