Yeh the pic that tribal posted is from the RX-8 and yeah thos STi gauge cluster looks very nice. I feel that the STis and EVO enthusiasts should join up together and enjoy the cars overall and stop with the feuds.

uh.... you can't really tell but the plate says "22 (little 7) DTM.

That means that there are (at least) 7 cars with the same plate 22 DTM. In Jersey you can have the same plate on many cars the little number changes.

BTW DTM plate are all manufacters plates.
so Sube is 22 DTM,BMW may be 17 DTM. All the pics you see of the "review" STis will have 22 DTM as a plate.

You should be able to get a decent trade-in $ for it if it doesn't have a ton of miles. Dealership gave me about $1500 less than what I could have sold my Lightning for, but I made that up by paying less tax, and not dealing with the hassles associated with selling it myself. Give it a shot ... the longer you wait ... the less your L will be worth.

btw, the above site has a nice selection of wallpapers...
Now that one does look better ... appears to be dropped down a bit more but maybe it's just the pic. The STi really lacks exterior appearance compared to the evo IMO in pictures. Inferior front end, rear end, rear spoiler, wheels and headlights .... and the evo looks meaner thanx to the wider wheel wells and front mounted intercooler. Also, the STi lacks Recaro's ... but I like the look of the large scoop! Still, I will have to see it in person and I'm sure it will still be a blast to drive. Is it me or does that shifter look much taller than the evo's.

BTW isn't this thread in the WRONG forum?
You man those who are basing their decision on asthetics ONLY. Performance is always 1st, but I could never buy something that lacked in the exterior dept. either.

The STi may lack Recaro seats, but the seats that are in them are no slouch at all. I dare you to sit in both and tell me you like one seat much more than the other

Subaru of America has released the STi price on April 17th:

$30,995 + $545 destination charge.

It will be quite a war indeed... can't wait!

bottom line,

STI
$30,995 - 300 hp, 300 tq
more power, better diffs, much nicer interior.

EVO
$29,582 better suspension and handling , dyno'd by vishnu to be only 20hp over the regular wrx what's up with that?

bolt ons are a lot cheaper and readily available for the STi, as the WRX has already established a good number of vendors and basic bolt ons at reasonable prices.

bang for the buck, the STI is a vertiable monster compared to the EVO, and for only $1,000 more dollars. looks or not (i think the EVO looks like a pontiac) we're not driving pretty little dress up cars, these are AWD sports sedans, and are destined to redefine the US import sport car market.
