Cool STi MSRP official

Hello boys and girls! First poster here...I've read here a bit, but never registered before

Just a friendly note to let you all know that the "Battle of US AWD Supercars" just got a bit more interesting. Not sure if any of you frequent the NASIOC boards. The official price of the 2004 Subaru WRX STi is.....

$30955 base price + $550 destination charge = $31545 MSRP

Whoaaaaaa nelly this is gonna be good for everyone involved. Let the begin!

I truthfully thought it was going to be a bit higher and was on the EVO/STi fence. I just fell on the Subaru side (admittedly I started slightly biased).

I gotta credit 97itr153 on NASIOC for this quote that about sums up my feelings:

For hard-core enthusiasts like myself, both cars will end up costing about the same. If I buy an Evo, I will get all the performance extras but none of the non-performance extras. But If I buy the STi, I will end up paying just the base price because the STi gets all performance-related items as standard.

EVO:
MSRP + Dest = 29,582
Brake Cooling = 149
Front Brace = 422
Rear Brace = 385
Rear Wing = 480
Air Dam = 231
Total Price = 31,249

STI: (no performance options)
MSRP + Dest = 31,545
When outfitted for outright performance from the factory, the MSRPs will be within $300 of each other.

Can't wait to get my grubby hands on a wheel and see some of ya'll on the track.

Please do a search. There must be 4 threads on the Sti already
BTW, none of those parts are needed on the Evo. The Evo is 1500-2000 cheaper when similarly equipped. The Evo has front and rear braces already...the expensive ones offered are just fancier aluminum. There are already brake ducts in the undercarriage aerodynamic panel. The ducts offered just route air more directly on the rotor. The airdam is an ugly waste of money imo.
You also need to add cost of a stereo to the Sti since it doesn't come with cd player or speakers.
There are pluses and minuses to each car..but the diffeence in similar equipped cars is about $2k. Can't lose with either choice though

Sure broeli, but this is new info (basically came out this weekend). Certainly I figured worthy of a thread. Maybe ya'll are a bit stingy with the "new thread" button over here. I'll figure that out.

I think many of us thought the MSRP would be higher than that. I know I sure did.

Oh and about the radio. When you have 2.5 liters of horizontally opposed music to listen to...

I know I won't miss it.

Don't bother...I found em...in the "other car" forum.

Pshawww you know there should be a EVO vs. STi forum... can't just lump the STi in with "other"

Mods...feel free to delete thread. My work is done.
