I'm sure that car is making some sick #s, but it probably cost a fortune.

VW has just started building a GTI that has both, a supercharger and and a turbo, so it's most definitely do-able.

Since it's not an Evo, it must be "useless" and "junk." Great mentality.

I'd be more interested in knowing how much it cost than the #s it's putting out!

It's cheaper to get a Chevy Big Block and drop it in under the hood.

I'm pretty disappointed in those figures, actually. I expected it would make at least 650-700 hp.

Actually, 443whp for $10k. Like you said, the power figures are quite dissapointing: the twin charged kit for the Mini Cooper S with its tiny 1.6 liter costs about $6k and pushes 380-400 whp with race gas...

I agree about the negative and biased mentality on EvoM towards WRXs/STIs...however I found the same mentality on WRXs forums, even worst. Ask Carlos (fromWRXtoEVO) about it, he's been insulted and harassed several times on NASIOC after laying down some opinions. IMHO, Subarus are not bad nor junk...they're just slower and a step down in handling when compared to Evos. No surprise here.

I'm sure. I'm famous for being banned by nearly all of the more popular Subaru sites on the Net because I can't keep my big mouth shut.

Just recently I was banned (again) from www.iwsti.com for defending an Evo owner who had posted a video of his car beating an STi. Everyone attacked him telling him to go post his videos here and asked him, "Why are you here? What's your point? Blah blah blah."

NASIOC- I got banned from NASIOC on a dare. Someone bet me I couldn't get banned from NASIOC. I bet them I could. Considering the source, I figured a banning from NASIOC wouldn't be much of a loss anyway (it really isn't.....).

I-Club? I wasn't banned from I-Club. I just had a few trolls following me around from thread to thread because again, I'm not a Subaru fanboy, so I just basically ignore that site now. As a whole, they're not much better than NASIOC.

WRX Links- Wow, I signed up for that site under "Sinister Subaru" and holy sh*t, I had all the jackasses attacking me before I even had 10 posts up. We won't mention the mentality of those idiots. For the 2 weeks I was there, I hadn't seen one person on that site that wasn't an absolute tool. I'm sure there were some, but I hadn't seen any.

Now, before anybody goes off the deep end and says, "Geez, this guy thinks everybody's douchebag but him," that's not the case. I've run into some very intelligent people on ALL of those sites, but the majority of those people are just young, immature, and close-minded to everything but what they're driving.

I simply get a bad rap for speaking my mind. I simply don't care, and I tell it like it is. I don't take sides in the Subaru Vs. Mitsubishi battle. It's always going to be going on, and both will succeed and both will fail. I probably have the worst reputation of any Subaru owner on the Net. Oh well.

So, what do I do? I hop over to EvoM, and very rarely get into arguments with anyone. That's pretty funny, considering I'm supposed to be the "enemy."

Currently, the only Subaru forum that I regularly participate on is www.wrxtuners.com, and they seem to be a decent bunch with a real high-class site going on over there.

I'm thinking about starting a site for BOTH, STis/STIs and Evos alike. I'm already trying to get a group of people in my area cobbled together to enjoy some fun outtings and cruises. I'm finding that more Evo guys seem to be interested than Subaru guys.

As for Subarus being slower and a step down in handling, the 2006 STI handles just as well as the Evo. In some contests, the 2006 out-handled the Evo by a slim margin, and the STi/STI has also been slightly faster since both of their introductions to the States. Well, whatever the case, it doesn't matter any to me anyway.

I'm happy with my purchase, as I'm sure the rest of the people here are happy with theirs. I don't buy cars based on, "Oh, well this one is .1 faster in the 1/4 mile," or "This one handles at 0.90g and that one handles at 0.92g!" The odds are I'm never going to push the car to those limits anyway, so it matters none to me. Regardless, there will always be somebody's car that's faster and somebody's car that handles better.
