To both of the last replys- So would most people on this board so he was asking about those two cars. It comes down to which style you like and if you want N/A power or FI power stock. Those RSX's respond very well to mods.

Bang for buck (Stock):

Honda Civic Si > Chevy Cobalt SS > VW GTI > Acura RSX Type-S

Reliability:

Honda Civic Si >= Acura RSX Type-S > Chevy Cobalt SS > VW GTI

Resale Value:

Acura RSX Type-S > VW GTI > Honda Civic Si > Chevy Cobalt SS

Upgrade potential (<$3000):

VW GTI >= Chevy Cobalt SS > Acura RSX Type-S > Honda Civic Si (Honda should be better than the RSX in a few months when parts are actually available)

Upgrade potential (>$3000):

Who cares... once you get to this point on these cars, they're damn-near becoming a money-pit anyway!

Just my $.02... Oh and I'd personally buy the Honda Civic Si

RSX-S....even though its a biased opinion. I'd still choose it over a cobalt...

I know I had a turbo rsx-type s - greddy kit with supporting mods put down 290 something on 7 psi..

I would go drive them all and do some research to see what has been done already with the least amount of $$$ but still maintaining reliability for the power I want.

If you want to pop a motor go with the VW. Personally I would go with the acura. Much better looking car. I have personally seen 3 VWs with blown motors from the APR crap tuning. 1 that sat in my driveway for 6 months. Those guys don't know **** about cars. Period. Not to mention the fact that they do not dyno anywhere near their advertised numbers. Just my $.02.

My friend has a Cobalt SS. He likes it, but all of the interior is falling apart!! The stiching in the seats are coming apart, the moonroof broke, the driver side interior door handle came off. But the engine is still running strong. It's an '05 and yeah it was all covered under waranty, but damn!!! Still means you'll spending all your time at the cheby dealership lol.

Hence I voted for the RSX. Better build qualtiy. You can always make the RSX faster, you can't improve the build quality on the Cobalt.

I so agree on the quailty part of this statement...thats one thing I never had a problem with on my old RSX...The interior and exterior were fine and didn't fall apart over time like most.. "american made cars." But, thats why I'll never buy american made car again. I'm making a broad statement so I hope I'm not offending anyone.

It's funny that you went from a rsx to an evo...I might have to do the opposite lol. I might be getting out of the AF and go to school full time.

And since you are in Tucson, do you go on AZAWD.ORG?

Peace!
