Sweeeet Swap!!!
Sweeeet Swap!!!
Just looking for some opinions.....My father gave my a 1964 Nova, 2 door, its a Chevy II w/ an automatic on the floor and a 230ci inline 6....Now i was gonna just say screw it and put a big block in it. but then i decided that a twin turbo small block would be kool. Now, i got thinking again and i thought that keeping the 6 cyl would be nice ,and then you would'nt have to cut and hack so much....heres what i came up with.....2JZ w/a single turbo on EMS.....the car would have no idea what it has in it...and the engine would have no idea what its in....and i could use the GM 2 speed powerglide for the transmission....and make 1000whp and it still be pretty light.....
So what do ya think???
So what do ya think???
One i think Your dad would hate you, two you would be spending sooo much money and your still just gonna end up with a chevy II, three your gonna have to hack it all up even more for a 2jz its a toyota motor, fabbing motor mounts, running fuel lines for fuel injection, Just drop in a V8 and be happy with it. Dont bastardize something your dad gave you

I was watching spike tv on saturday and they were putting in an LS2 in a nova with a six. You can get EVERYTHING you need out of any catalog (summit, jegs etc. etc) It would be cheaper than having stuff fabricated. Being unique isn't always a great idea. Shove a v8 in it and be happy.
Sell it, get a rustang, and put an rb26 in it.
Because apparently that's what's hot now-a-days.
In all seriousness... if you plan to do this, go with a 2JZ 6 speed tranny. I swear to god those things are unbreakable. I don't think you would really want to do the wiring yourself, it may be easier to do what the "supra-7" did back in the days and go with:

Best of luck whichever way you choose.
