Dont be surprised seeing the Galant VR-4 hitting our shores.
So ive been thinking, subaru will be bring the Legacy Turbo over in the next few months, Do you think Mitsubishi will retaliate by bringing the Galant VR-4 to compete?
I think Mitsubishi will have to add an awd car to the gallant lineup just to compete. There is little hope that they will be able to keep up with Honda/Nissan power wise, so they will need something to set themselves apart from the crowd. I have to think a $25k awd mid-size sedan with a nice V6 would be a big hit in the US....

Um, the Galant VR-4 is a v6 twin turbo AWD car.. with all wheel steering..
Not a lowly galant /w AWD..
It has the 6G72 like the 3000GT VR4 i believe.
And i would love for these to come.. that would be very nice.

it would be nice, but I think Mitsubishi would have a tough time selling them because they would be quite expensive. If they could start with their standard 230HP N/A V6 and add awd and keep the price down, they would be able to steal customers away from Audi & Subaru who just about completely own the affordable awd car market. A Gallant with GTO running gear would be sweet, but I think
needs to start a bit lower then that and work their way up.

Yeah, but this car already exists.. No development costs... The cool legacy is going to be EXPENSIVE.. from what i read a little less then $50K.
So this would be the competition.

Of course, you have the E-Tuned version, the Blitzen (Porsche tuned) and those would cost a bit more.

I remember seeing a artical about subie bringing the turbo legacy /w the 3.0l H6 twin turbo to the states and with all the options it was close to 50K..
It is alot more then the Impreza STI from what i hear. leather, larger displacement, twin turbo..
Wish i remembered where i read that...
I just say it based on my personal experience/logic. Since in Hong Kong, you can get a Legacy RSK/S4 (turbo wagon/sedan) for slightly less than the Impreza Sti.
Given the fact that Subby would like to stick with their market group for the Legacy, it would make much more sense to market a "relatively sporty sedan/wagon" in the mid-high 30's price range. If they push it more, that would be the M3/S4 category, which the Legacy won't win

eh, maybe i was smokin crack..
It was the Legacy B4, and it only has the 2L.. and price is right ~30K...
Not sure if the artical i read was BS or what. but you are correct, it is in the 30K range.

There is going to be a "B4" 2.5L-Turbo Legacy, which is going to be the sub $30,000 car, and the Legacy STi will be the Twin Turbo H-6 making 360HP and selling for $45,000
