New car!

Well I sold the Evo almost 2 years ago, had the 98 Cobra for about a year..... last week I bought an 06 GTO 6speed. I love it, it rides really nice, interior is great, and it handles pretty well. I got a killer deal too, 10,000 miles for $22950. It's nice to have an import again (Made in Australia, haha) Here are some pics I snapped (It was raining out so it looks like crap, I'll post some decent ones up at somepoint once I clean 'er up)

Lookin foward to seeing some of you guys around the Chicagoland.

FYI I did a pull with a bone stock Evo9, and from 40-100 it was dead even. (I guess the weight factor/shorter gearbox really helps the Evo from lower speeds)

You will love the LS2. Those cars are very easy to mod, and have more variety of parts compared to the Corvette LS2. You will like the T56 tranny, very strong and yea the seats are amazing, I feel like im going to fall asleep as soon as I sit in one. Nice car, im doing the opposite as you...going from GM to Mitsu.

I loved my Evo but.... certainly won't miss the turbo lag! Hahaha. I do way too much highway driving for an Evo as well, no cruise control sucks, and going 75 in 6th gear in the GTO, I'm chillin at 1800rpms.

I ran the same exact car two weeks ago at the track. I ran a 12.87 at 108mph while he ran a 13.26 at 110mph. At the beginning though we were dead even until after the 8th mile...then I was able to pass him a bit. Nice car. I bet those babys throw ya back in the seat nicely. I plan to get something similar after my Evo. Enjoy pal.

+1.. I can vouch for that!

Nice car, Boostin. You said that you sold your Evo a few years ago, but have you purchased another one, and purchased the GTO to accompany it in the garage?

A lot of people didn't like the GTO. I like it, and seriously considered one over the STi, but then I found out it weighed 3700+ lbs. It didn't help that it would've been a tough sell on the wife, either, considering it's RWD and I already one RWD car that sucks in snow.

She's a beauty

I had the same car but it's called a lumina SS in the middle east.
I'm sure you know the history of these cars... anyways, for those whjo dont know the Pontiac GTO (states) and Lumina SS(middle east) are Australian desighned cars originally called the Holden Monaro (Australia) they just change the badges and the front bumper.
I sold mine after 10 k because i had my heart set on the evo after a test drive..
Heres what mine looked like ..i think it's the same color too.. Odysee

It's kind of strange looking at a Chevy grill/emblem on a "GTO." Looks cool.

Why doesn't GM ever give us anything good? I know we got the Monaro, and it's a very nice car, but I see it more of a "touring" car than a Muscle Car due to its weight. GM needs to trash this idea of "certain cars for certain markets," and "spread the love." While other markets get the V8 Commodore models, we get a FWD V8 Grand Prix and Impala SS. I just had a standard Impala as a rental car this past week while my STi was in the shop, and that thing was one of the worst cars I have ever had the "pleasure" of driving. Granted, it was a base model, but nonetheless, an Impala is an Impala....LAME. Just as GM is on to something, they cancel it. Look at the '94-'96 Impala SS, Fiero (as soon as they got it right, they cut it), Grand National/GNX, Beretta and Corsica (GM's top selling models at the time!), etc.

Oh, and I no longer have an Evo at all. I have a Cavalier as a winter beater, the GTO, my mom just bought a Subaru Legacy GT, and my dad has a Charger. People are usually pretty jealous of our driveway, haha. Oh yeah, and my dad is the original owner of a Nissan Datsun 260z... 1974 with 40,000 original miles.

I just get a kick out of the fact that I whack older M3s/Audi S4s in my MOM'S car... not to mention Mustang GTs.
