Looking for a project car.! suggestions?!?!!?!

Hey guys.

I am looking for a project car/weekend car.... not really gonna be racing the car at the track a lot but just want a nice weekend car.
I already have my evo as my ... regular car.... (daily driver) but sometimes i might wanna take other car for a drive too... so here we goo...
::: what i am thinking to do is ...

Buy a decent condition of 240sx (s13) but thinking of doing a 2jz-gte swap?
You guys think it will be possible. The engine that i will be getting is online.
It comes with the transmission and a complete engine. You guys think it's possible to fit in it?. If not, What other things do you guys recommend?. I was going to put a 2jz in a honda hatch but....... I don't think it CAN fit .. Plus I'll have no traction whatsoever. I like the power of the 2jz! Because when I went back to my country (thailand). My buddy gave me a ride in his 900 horse 2jz powered in the 240 sx.....
So i was thinking of doing the same thing?. but what else do you guys have it for suggestions? rb26dett? ...

LET ME KNOW! ....
THANKX

I want to sell my car and build a s14 w/ stock ka24de, and turbo it through AMS. Make big power... Ya know? OH, and S15 front end.

Yes, that should do.

Turbo240.com

Oh and odviously the 2jz will fit in the 240 if your buddy already did it, so why are you even asking? But RB26 is way more popular, and it would be way easier to get help with that. Plus, it's just as potent of an engine...

I'm not sure why... It's just a waste of money, considering what AMS can do to the motor that's already in there...

Maybe you should just sell your Evo and buy a Supra?

oh, btw I saw s13 all carbon fiber parts! with the s15 front end .. Looks really really nice(SICK!).... about the engine. I like it because it sounds really nice... has lots and lots of potential.... it's a bulletproof engine.... so less likely to have problems... plus it's just .... sick to have a supra engine in the s13?... don't you think?

You should just put a 2jz in your Evo, it bolts right up.

Nobody is doubting the potential of the 2jz. It just isn't going to be a walk in the park to get into a 240 and wire it so that it will actually run correctly. The RB series of engines have been put into those cars many times over and there is a ton of support out there to help you along the way. From what I've read there is still a rediculous amount of fabrication involved with swapping the RB25/RB26, more than I'd want to deal with. I can only imagine a 2jz...and I make my living as an automotive technician...

1978 Chevy Malibu with the Grand National's 3.8 Turbo motor. Light car, light motor, easy high horsepower.

1984 SVO Mustang with a Cosworth-sourced motor....preferably the same found in the Noble M12.

Mid-80's Camaro with the LS6 from last generation Z06 Corvette, and a 6spd transmission upgrade.

1970 Ford Maverick with a 351 Windsor.

Mid 90's Buick Roadmaster Station Wagon with an LT4 upgrade.

1988 Pontiac Fiero with a Cadillac Northstar motor.

i've seen some pics of this swap. it's actually pretty cool, and would be way cooler if in fact it didn't cost an arm and a leg to do. If you can wipe your butt with 100 dollar bills, then this swap is all for you if you need that "im speciall look at meeee!!" kind of feeling.

If im not mistaken the intake and exhaust manifolds are on separate sides also, which is a ****ty problem when you're having your custom exhaust made. If you do it, cheers . I'd rather just put an rb20 in and be happy with that. Not to mention it's a buttload cheaper

Uhhh...it's not that simple just importing a Skyline into the states. With all the paper work and the horribly long wait for the car...he wouldn't be looking at a simple "34K BAM!"

As for the project car goes...I think an RB engine would be the way to go. They already make motor mount kits for them so you won't have to hassle with custom mounts and what not.

I would like to add a 91-94 240sx coupe or 97-98 240sx chassis with a LS1, 1jz or 2jzgtte.. either one of those setups would be badass.. I was looking to build a 91-94 240sx coupe with a LC2 (grand national engine) but the tranny tunnel is to small and thier isn't enough clearance for the exhaust.. (from what I've been reading)

Good luck on what ever you choose.
