I just saw the Time Attack with that car on "Redline TV" the other night. It smoked the (I think it was AMS, but can't remember) Evo and Cusco STi.

A Cobalt owner's largest defense when defending their car is, "YEAH? WHO WON THE TIME ATTACK? IT SMOKED EVOS AND STIS!" That argument's quickly thwarted when mention is made that GM sponsored the Cobalt, and not a small tuner. With GM-amounts of money for support, there's no excuse for losing....

Did you see how many stock parts they used? The car only made around 260hp which is basically a pulley swap.

If I remembered correctly...they said that all modifications done to the car could be bought off GM shelves. I think...

I can't remember if they said all parts could be bought off the shelf, but they did mention that they did use parts that could be purchased. Sure, the car may have used some parts that could be purchased, but how many of those parts actually came from the factory on that car?

I could go buy every SPT part in the catalog and throw it on my STi, but it doesn't make it "factory." I'd like to know what percentage of those parts used on that Cobalt SS were parts equipped on the stock car.

I think it's a nice looking car, but the FWD drivetrain is a true turn-off. It's a good performer, but not great. GM had the opportunity to make a great performer, by going with an AWD drivetrain, but instead they chose only to make it a "good" performer. It's the same with Mazda with the MazdaSpeed 3. It could've been great, but instead they plagued it with a FWD drivetrain instead of an AWD drivetrain.

Jealousy? Something tells me that if an EVO would've won, the feelings would be much different. Lets not be sore losers when another car wins something.

That car is very nice but was a full factory effort.........and the track record still belongs to an EVO.

Who cares, anyway? It's a FWD pile of econosh*t. The styling is alright, and the performance is alright.....but that's it....it's just.....alright.

It was comical; Heinricy sitting there saying that it runs on all "Off the Shelf" GM Parts as I'm looking at a complete Custom Suspension.

It was also running 150 NOS
