10 second project car

Hey, I'm looking for a project car this summer that will run high 10's or even high 11's.

My main goal is to make a ten second car this summer and like with most project cars I need to keep costs minimal. so I would really like to not replace the internals.

So far I'm think of a supra for obvious reasons, any other cars preferably rwd that are capable of 10 seconds with stock internals?

LS1 fbody. People have gone 10s on the stock bottom end with a few setups.

-heads & cam
-heads, cam and N20
-cam and N20
-bolt-ons with stock H/C
-S/C or Turbo
-N20 and bolt-ons

A 98-02 model can be had with under 80k miles for $7k-$8k.

Yea go the domestic route if you planning on "saving" money

It just doesn't make sense when you put "keep costs minimal" with "10 sec car"
together

99-02 fbody. take out some weight, put in a heathly cam, and 4400 stall, and gear and a tire and some tunning and other supporting mods and you'll have a high 10 second car on 93 octane

+1, and to keep costs minimal; thinking Supra and 10 second isn't "cost effective" what so ever! lol Good luck!

Well when I say keeping costs minimal I mean within respects to what a ten second car would take.

Like it would be much easier to take a camaro or even a supra to 10's then an evo.

True, if you put it like that i would say muscle car would be the way to go, i mean i have friends with 03 cobras who spent maybe 2500 dollars and are running 11.2's on slicks and trapping 10 second mph's. if you wanna stay import without swapping motors and what not i say Supra, Cause while a 1g Talon is my personal dream project car, we all know it will not be "cost effective" with mods leading to 10 second passes! lol GOOD LUCK!

A friend of mine in Indiana has a 2nd gen RX-7 with an LSI and a T72, it's beyond out of control! he is working out his traction issues now. Should be tuned soon. I'll be sure to post the vid wen he send it to me!

I also heard I smoke the hell of one just like that on evo9grl's car(GG EVO9 ) this August when I was compiting on the street class at Firebird when I took 2nd place.

One of the employees from azdynochip in Phoenix owns one RX7 with a LS1 with 3 millions other mods and EVO9grl's Evo 9 with a budget of $1100 smoke the hell out of a RX7 with the LSI.

Ask AZ EVO IX MR(mike), he was there compiting with me and he also smoke the hell out of that RX7 with the LSI.

This is the picture of the one I raced at the track. The ironic part is that I approached to his car with the intention of observing his engine which calleD me the attention that it was a Ls1, then from that point on I heard his 2-3 minutes sermon of mods and kills he routinely perform... At the end he ran high 12's even with huge a$$ tires.
