The car is expensive because the build quality is amazing and all the materials used are top notch and the car is made for fast highway cruising and long stretches of German countryside. Its made by the same people that make lamborghinis for God's sake.

If I owned an RS4, I wouldn't give two sh*ts about some kid in an Evo being faster than my Audi, because I know that my car is far superior. Plus, I'd be rich enough to put a twin turbo kit and coilovers on it to blow your Evo completely outta the water lol

Believe me, I like Evo's as much as the next guy, probably more. I really want one in fact. But you just can't deny the fact that this is a better car.
You have to take everything peeps say with a grain of salt - and what would you expect on an evo forum

If I owned an RS4, I would still envy the Evo - I love 'em

I wouldn't touch the 4.2 - especially with a twin turbo set-up ; RS6 That RS4 is Perfect the way it is!!!!

On a lot of levels it's a better car, but that's just silly to say flat out that it's a better car - gotta look at ones needs I have an Audi for my daily driving, but it's more important for me to have my Evo for weekend track events.

I saw an RS4 in an Audi/VW showroom. The exterior of the car is amazing and it's matched by the interior. The thing that caught my eye the most were the seats. Awesome.

Handled amazingly and but for the fact that it has a better rear bias (thus a little more oversteer than my OEM suspensioned Evo) I wouldn't have known the difference between the two. Oh other than the lack of turbo surge... A very nice car with excellent feel... I'd buy one if I had the need, but six vehicles for just the wife and I are enough (for now )

Sure I can. The RS4 might be a higher quality car. It might be more civilized. It might be more luxurious. It might be more prestigious. It might be more of a babe magnet. But better? Maybe, maybe not. Depends upon what you're looking for in a car. For a weekend track warrior, I think most people would say the Evo is better. For a daily driver, the RS4 is probably better.

Gorgeous car! RS4 is definately better for daily driver. Sometimes I want to get something more civilized but we're all addicted to high pounds of boost.

It's still not bad considering it has nearly 100HP less than the M5, not to mention competing in the class below it, and, in MOTOR magazines PCOTY test, lapped only .03 of a second slower than the M5 around a circuit.

Besides. It's a huge improvement over previous Audi's as far as fun dynamics are concerned. And those seats.....

I went to an Audi ride and drive for the launch of the Q7 and they had the RS4 there. You weren't allowed to drive it but they were giving rides. It sounds really good, is pretty quick, seems to handle pretty well (hard to tell how hard he was pushing from the passenger seat) but, what makes it really cool is that it is completely comfortable and livable when your not driving the wheels off it.

I hope the steering in the S/RS models feels completely different than the A4 though. We almost bought one for my wife and when she said it was completely numb I knew there was a problem.

SHAAAWING! I love the new style so much more than the old. For 66k it is starting to get up there in price though. Maybe I will get one when I don't want to drive the Evo in the winter anymore, haha. Heated seats + AWD + winter tires... excellent.

Unfortunately we don't get those seats or that steering wheel. They didn't get past the US crash regs for some stupid reson; so, only the lucky euro's get it.

For 66K I'd hope for styling that matched the performance, I mean this looks a lot like a Jetta.

I totally understand your point, but a faster car is a faster car, period. In my opinion faster equals a superior car. If all you want is luxury than go for this car, but for me I'm only interested in speed and handling. I totally don't care about super luxury gee wizz doodads. I am not trying to argue. I just want to express what most Evo owners feel. To most people an Evo is about performance and that's it.

If you want a heavy under performing boat with a bunch of gee golly wizz bang luxury things, than this car is for you.

By the way certain Porsches, Ferraris and Lambos don't even have AC, power windows and no radio. Some of them are even lacking a full interior and sound deadening. Those cars are just about being fast and that's all. They do have the side affect of being just plain cool and baller, because they are exotics and expensive.

I thought the Brits (Evo) lapped a quicker time then the M5?? I'll check
