A friend and owner of an Audi dealership had a Gray RS4 at the last track event I went to...I happened to be his instructor and got the chance to drive it as well as ride along for a few days. After a lot of time in his car I took him for a ride in my EVO IX MR, which only has a drop in filter, cat back exhaust and AMS Tune (plus safety equipment) and R-compounds. He was amazed as we passed everything in sight...he claimed it to be the fastest car out there...although there were a few I say were faster. They are both very nice cars, as a daily driver the RS4 is awesome, but as a race car, a modified Evo is superior. As a stop light racer (not that I condone it), a slightly modded Evo should prevail, but don't sleep on the light or you might be looking at the rear 4 rings of another 4 door

 

How did it perform considering its weight and purpose??

This isn't new...

I chased one around the track last year. Dude wouldn't let me pass... and pulled off out of the session though.

 

i test drove one about 3 weeks ago...

being a hardcore euro guy, previously, I loved the car, but just like most audis.. it felt heavy, numb, and was quick, but slightly underpowered compared to the new M5 etc...

But... the fit and finish is awesome, interior is awesome, sound is awesome, but i think its overpriced for what it is....

My best friend just put a deposit on one and he is getting it next weekend. I got to sit in it and the thing is sick! The interior is amazing. Ill let you guys know how it drives when he gets it.

Evo out-perform a lot cars out there, but does it mean they're better than all those cars? HELL NO, I guess I'm no kid no more, it's not about how much hp I put down, what I ran in 1/4mile or whatever. You just can't compare these two cars, it's in a totally different class.

I'm sick of hearing "yea if you do this to the Evo, you'll smoke xxx car" so what? you think Ferrari and Porsche guy care if your Evo is faster than their car? again HELL NO. Grow up! Learn to respect the exotic cars, not to hate or brag about your car is faster.

I am sort of in agreement. Tired of Evo guys posting up new cars and saying "holy crap this car is superfast but the Evo can take it with just a tune and MBC and exhaust!" Its a damn high class Audi. Yeah I'm sure it would be awesome to take this car around a track and autocross and it might not do as well as your Evo, but its a high class Audi. The car is expensive because the build quality is amazing and all the materials used are top notch and the car is made for fast highway cruising and long stretches of German countryside. Its made by the same people that make lamborghinis for God's sake.

If I owned an RS4, I wouldn't give two sh*ts about some kid in an Evo being faster than my Audi, because I know that my car is far superior. Plus, I'd be rich enough to put a twin turbo kit and coilovers on it to blow your Evo completely outta the water lol

Believe me, I like Evo's as much as the next guy, probably more. I really want one in fact. But you just can't deny the fact that this is a better car.
