cheap awd

ive been looking for a cheap preferably two door awd vehicle. im talking like 900 dollars cheap. i plan on frankensteining it and see what i can do with it. im not looking to destroy evos or rape sti's but i would be fun to have a cheap little autocross car that i can just beat the hell out of and not have to worry about it being a 30,000+ dollar car. so any suggestions? old would be preferred, circa 1990 idk. let me know what you guys think. thanks.

Funny story, A friend of mine bought a 1g gsx from a women who was selling her son's car that she bought for him because he was acting up and getting locked up. He paid 1400 for a gsx with extensive work, im talking race fmic, upgraded turbo everything, exterior goodies, more than $10,000 under the hood and the mom didnt even realize what she had sold.

Here in the L.A. area $900.00 would get you a decent condition 1st gen shell only. A complete 1st gen awd for $900.00 would be pretty thrashed if you were to find one imho. But you might get lucky if you're patient in looking around.

Buy any old mid 80 Subaru, 90% of them were AWD if not 100%were already AWD. It is going to be very tough to find many AWD for that price, at the end you might spend much more on your project.

Save up some money and get a high mileage 1Gen DSM for around $2500, it will be nicer and much easier to mod than anything in the market.

You awd $900 project might end costing you more. Consider even other powerplants if you are planning on trashing that car.

^gracias

i have been looking at a 1g gsx. thanks for all the input gangstas. haha. i think everyone has a friend who scored a sweet deal and you hate them for it. haha. i scored my truck for 2000(67 c-10) running great and with a single dent on the whole truck. but yeah back on topic im pretty sure its going to be a 1 gsx. i knew it would be more than 900 but that was only target price so if i went over it would be alright, all this positive response is why i like this community so much.
