From ricer to racer , 90 gst log (updated log)

Hello Everyone I figured That I would make a little Log and maybe even give a little history of my car
bought it in 2001 ALL stock even had the air filter car the car had 130k on her
after watching a few movies and becoming a ricer the car had a few weird asthetic mods

At this point the car had 3 inch exhaust, hard piping, a 16g, and an afc
Then I had the unfortunate accident of an oil filter coming loose so I ended up stripping a timing belt.
here are some pics of her with the 16g and badd *** head

I built a nice head and threw it on the car along with a bb 60-1 turbo
during this time the car went through versus stages and started to turn into more of an obssession
so I got a good buddy of mine to weld in a cage and this is what she looked like (thanks alot scott)

here are some random pictures of what she had including the ghetto fab rear firewall

the motor at this point was now a 2.3 liter with all the goodies sporting a T70 that I would occassionally drive on the street

here she is at 131 with the T70 set up

ran a best 11.42 @132
hey look its BILL (showdowns old car)

I won that race because bill was having some problems with his car

here is what the motor looked like at that point in time and remained for a while

after breaking axles all the time
it was time for some wheelie bars so the crew at PMAS fabbed up some great wheelie bars for me

after some heavy massaging etc etc I decided to go with a real turbo so a 42 is what I choose
how she sits today

with the new front mount

well I did not like how close the relocated gate was to the oil filter so I moved it up a little higher in the engine bay. I actually prefer this location, plus it gave me a better angle for the dump tubes from each gate to keep them relatively uniform and in the same location.
here are some pics of what the gates look like with the dump tubes attached

the dump tubes if you were looking straight through the bumper

Next on the list was some kind of an intake system for the Gt42 well the inlet was 5 inches so I ordered up some 5 inch aluminum pipe and cut it the orientation that I wanted. This was quite a challenge to cut such a large pipe with my 14 inch chop saw, but it turned out "ok" I will be welding a Velocity stack that they use on carburators (sp) to it as they also have a foam insert inside the velicity stack
heres what it looks like now (the velocity stack is not yet purchased)

I also mounted up the second a1000 to the chasis, I have not run the lines into the existing system yet as I ran out of money for fittings and check valves 2

looking mean

thats it for now this weekend will be the lexan passenger window and some electrical work
stay tuned for more updates

thanks
I have not run it with the bigger turbo yet but I hope to sometime this season I hope, It is just sucking up a bunch of my cash right now, so it makes things a little difficult. I have pretty much finished tacking together all the pipes so fab work is complete. Its just the little bs stuff that is left to be completed
