Lotus Elise
Ok... I know you can pick one up used (about 15K miles) for 35 ish on ebay, etc. But putting that possibility aside... im not paying 60,000 dollars for a 190 HP car, with a toyota celica GTS engine. My brother had a GTS and I will tell you now, its capabilities arent the greatest... atleast not 60K great. I know the car still runs good times because it weighs about all of 8 pounds... But I think for a 50-60 thousand dollar car.. Lotus could have done better than this.
Not especially. Hence why Elise owners sometimes swap out the 2ZZ for a K motor. Lets be fair though, the k does hvae .2 litres more to work with (alot for these small 4s) and it was designed 5-6 years later. Yamaha actually designed the head for the 2ZZ.

* Got the weight from autos.msn.com and Lotus' website
Can anyone speak to the top end of these cars? Like in relative track terms? I love the handling of these, but a lot of time 4-bangers have crappy final drive ratios for top end.
Case in point; our 5speed Evo's have to shift into 5th gear around 108-114 (depending on year) and the final drive isn't the best for the track.

They are going to be between 75k-80k. They are for track use only. Four colors are available.
