As much as I love the S2000, I'm really disappointed in their execution of this. It looks pieced together and more "ricey" then I would expect.

The wing and front bumper are purely meant for added performance/downforce/grip, but that front bumper is really weird looking though.

Agreed (with 91TB78). I heard about the CR and I was hoping for a light-weight special with execution closer to an Elise. And they sent that thing. Sad. Ill take function over for any day.

Actually it is very purposeful in design for the track. They painted it blue so the painters tape that everyone puts on the cars does not show up in photos. LOL

Truithfully it makes sense what they did. It is lighter (no folding top) the wing and front end canard design is functional and the sueded seats grip you a bit better. It has different wheels (not sure of weight) and new Bridgestone tires that are stickier than any they have ever put on the car before.

I'm okay with the weight as it's a light car to begin with, but no power gains + ugly body kit = failure.

If you want to track an S2000, buy a 2000 or 2001 model, remove the soft top yourself, put a good aftermarket suspension/brake/wheel/R-compound tire setup on it, the Mugen 3 piece spoiler (which looks good and provides a fair amount of downforce, a front splitter, and save yourself $15,000.

Not really impressed. And like Westide Billy said, with the cost of the 01's these days, not really justifiable either.
