If you ask yourself how do I know this? Well I work for Chrysler. I sell cars and I talk to representatives anytime I want to and I already went over issues like this a thousand times.
FANBOI alert.

Evo has advantages over the Srt. But not many. For the people not looking to spend an additional 15k just for kicks, the Srt is a good way to go.

You cant erase the fact that the CHASSIS were built and will be shared amongst both cars. But then again your a car salesman so you must know more than everyone else

The cars will use the same chassis and engine arcitecture - bottom line. And yes, a chassis is a little more than doors and pillars.

The "world engine" design and chassis that the EVO and SRT-4 will use were co-developed by Chrysler, Mitsu and Hyundai. This is nothing new.....remember when Mitsu was partially owned by Chrysler?

Here's my take on the spazing about the engines: What do you say if I say we have the same engine as the Generation 1 Eclipses (which eventually shared an engine and chassis with the talon and the laser, both popular cars as well). My point is this: we have the same basic engine: a 4g63... with a lot of different internals... Dunno about you guys but I haven't heard of an Evo with crank walk yet.

Japan may not need America, but when's the last time Mitsubishi turned a profit in America?

As for platform sharing, the "things of that nature" that you refer to also include the chassis. There may be differences, but regardless, they're still the same platform. The Imprezas share the same platform as the STi/STI, and while the STi/STI is an Impreza, there are substantial modifications made to the STi/STI platform.

The Evo's new motor is a world motor. That means that Mitsubishi is not the only manufacturer running that motor. They also worked alongside Hyundai in the development of that motor. Don't be surprised to see Hyundai take full advantage of that motor and drop their own true performance car, perhaps maybe the next Tiburon GT or something?

The Caliber SRT-4 hasn't been released yet, the full specifications and price of the vehicle hasn't even been released yet.

Don't be surprised if the Caliber SRT-4 doesn't meet its target release date or get built at all for production. Chrysler is in some serious financial trouble right now. As of now though, Chrysler still intends to release all of the new products it originally planned for, but just don't be surprised if some of these get held up, financial troubles can cause many changes.

Isn't it funny that Mitsubishi is starting to turn things around, sales are way up so far this year. On the other hand Chrysler is in some huge financial difficulties and rumor is Daimler is trying to off load them, didn't Chrysler off load Mitsubishi? KARMA, ain't it a b*tch!

I worked for the global engine alliance.. So I'm really getting a kick out of most of these replies. Some of you are very good at making it sound like you know what you are talking about. But trust me.... You don't. I think you just want to make yourself sound smart, when in reality you don't know what you are talking about. This is how bad info gets passed around. If you don't know about the topic.... Don't make yourself sound like you do. Cause some people believe anything they hear.

So how about you tell us what the deal is? Why talk about how dumb people are and then not follow it up with facts?

Anyone can sit there and say that we're all idiots and not back up that claim.

I'm speaking in generalizations here, I know you're not actually calling people dumb or idiots.

When you sell 5 cars in 2006. Selling 10 the first 4 months of 2007 is an improvement, but its not exactly ground breaking is it?
