BMW Z4 M Coupe
BMW Z4 M Coupe
I've been tossing around the idea of getting an M Coupe with my wife. She likes the car and that's usually rare to begin with. I am also looking at the Porsche Cayman as well but leaning more towards the M Coupe for now. I will be keeping my Evo so I'd like to hear what your opinions are on the M Coupe. Keep in mind that there are "rumors" of the 335 TT motor or E92 M3 motor eventually going into the M Coupe. Again these are just "rumors" so, I may wait a year or two more before I purchase.
It's an awesome car, except for one thing:
The huge roundels on the sides towards the front of the car that cover the turn indicators. They're so damn ugly it hurts, especially on an otherwise beautiful car.

Um, I'd get the Cayman, but maybe that's just me and my love of Porsche... And hate for BMW... But looking at the Z4 M Coupe, I dunno, it's a pretty nice looking car, and a p/w ratio of 10:1 is pretty cool... How's the Cayman or Cayman S stack up?

I like it, but I would wait for the 335 or new V8. You know they will put the 335 motor in that thing and I expect the new V8 as well.
hmmmm....never really noticed that, but now that you point it out, I gonna have to take a closer look!

I really like these cars.. its beutiful, my freind just got an Si model and that car is still great looking. The only reason I had a change of heart is that, for the amount of money you pay, I would expect a little higher output engine even if the one used is the legendary inline 6. If they put the v8 under the hood this car will be sick.
2007 is the last year for the S54 inline 6, since it will not pass 2008 emissions standards. BMW will not retool the engine for this.
2008 will see the release of the M3 with the new V8. The Z4 will not receive the new engine, for many reasons. First, the production line changes would be too costly, second the M3 performance images would be tarnished unless the motor was severely de-tuned and finally the Z4 has only 18months left before being replaced with a new body style. Finally, sales of the Z4 (all styles) have been slow and demand small.
It's quite possible that 2007 will be the last year of the BMW M Z4 Coupe.
