About 5th Gen Jettas (05-07)

I currently drive a car that is around 120HP, it is fine I don't mind that it is slow (it actually helps when it comes to speeding!! LOL), but I hear the 1.9TDI is only 100 horsepower!! That sounds very low, I read that the top speed (which means you can't push it that hard LOL) is 116MPH. Now that is rather low. Does anyone have the newer Jettas in a 1.9TDI? If so, what is your take on the speed and when you hit the gas and stuff.

Also, Stock is the 2.5, it's a little more expensive (only about 2K which raises only 40 dollars a month more or less), is it worth it to get that car, at 150HP?

What about the 2.0 verison, with I believe it's 115HP, is it any good?

I am in love with these Jettas and I want one bad, I don't want a car that is FAST to the point I will be doing 60 in a 30 and get tickets! I just want to feel the power.
Would 100HP be too little??
Is it worth getting the 2.5???

How does the car handle?

A wise man once told me, with great power comes great responsability. That wise man was myself. You can get as much power as you want, you just have to have self control. I drive 30+ miles to work everyday and whether, I drive my 95 Jetta or my IX, it takes the same amount of time. TDI's have crazy tq because they are deisel vehicles. The 2.5 are slow as sin even though they have 150 hp. They are very heavy. I didnt even know they made a 2.0 mk5 jettas. The 2.0s with 115 hp stopped being produced with the mk4s. If it is indeed a 2.0 mk5, it must be the GLI which has 200+ hp and will definately net you a ticket if you lack that self control. They are very nice solid cars. You would probably want the 2.5 though. Good Luck
