tell your friend to take it to the strip and do a 1/4 mile... if he does it in less than 13 seconds he could MAYBE beat a STOCK evo... Evo with the same mods as he has, no question- Evo would kill it

5k worth of mods on a 5.0 liter stang and it would destroy 98% of the Evos on this forum. Theres a local guy who put two snails on his, as well as forged slugs, and some sort of shot peened yada ya rods, and he makes ridiculous power. On his "street setup" itll run single digits. Hes into the car for less than 10k.
All of that being said a bolt on Evo shoudl take the one your talking about

I had an 85 mustang and the dyno was much higher numbers (~350HP ~400FTLBS).... and every EVO that I was ever matched with had taken me from the line. STi's, I had at least a chance with.

That's an easy one, depends on which web site you ask. Evo web site? The Evo wins. Mustang web site, the Mustang wins. Thats why you don't see and $35,000 to $40,000 Evo's on Pinks. What idiot is going to risk his $35K car against a $13,000 Mustang/Camaro that's in the 10's?

Okay, I think we all know that from a dig and on street set-ups that the EVO would win. But form a roll on and if the evo is stock he has more power than the evo. It is hard for import lovers to know and believe that the 5.0 mustangs were and still are some the most mod friendly cars ever made and are still considered one of the best drag cars out there! I just sold my 93 Cobra for my evo (needed 4-doors w/ kid) and I had just put a HP performance turbo kit on the Cobra and it was a stock block and stock internals and with out even turning up the boost past waste gate it put down 452whp and 535wtq and ran like a beast (I know off subject, but am just saying I would not knock the 5.0 mustangs because they can make some power)!! Anyway it would be a fun race to watch!

a complete stage 1 setup evo (full tbe, mbc, fuel pump, injectors, drop in filter and a tune 300whp/300tq on DD 91oct tune ) will destroy a mustang in that similar setup.

you are right from a dig it is given. From a roll a stock 03-04 Evo with a 9.8 hotside vs a 5 speed 94 5.0 with the mods stated it will come down to the driver .. damm good race if you ask me..
