Same driver (hova00), had a EVO IX and now owns a 07 STI.

06 EVO IX GSR- Buschur Turboback Exhaust w/ a Helix Test Pipe, K&N Drop In Filter, Turbo XS Manual Boost Controller, and Turbo Trix Tune (Pump Gas)
60' 1.772
330 5.086
1/8 7.531
MPH 90.68
1000 10.028
1/4 11.98
MPH 115.9

07 STI- Blitz Nur Spec Catback Exhaust, Helix Catless Downpipe, and Cobb AP V2 Protune (Pump Gas)
60' 1.618
330 4.999
1/8 7.820
MPH 86.45
1000 10.249
1/4 12.21
mph 110.6

Hova00 you are a great driver no matter what you drive, I would have loved to have seen what you would have ran with Cams and some more bolt ons to go a long with the meth kit you eventually had installed, I guess we will never know. Good luck with the STI project.

looks like the Sti has less mods though. Still a good time though for two mods 12.2

Impressive run on pump gas. Looks like the Sti doesnt have the high rpm charge on pump.

that 1.61 60' would have put the evo into the 11.7x range most likely

Sure does but I wouldn't imagine a MBC and filter making 5mph and 3 tenths difference now would I. Plus that STI made about 315whp which is good, but that STI stock turbo is almost maxed out in power while his EVO IX has plenty of room to go. I just wish Hova00 would have stuck with what may have been one of the most powerful stock turbo EVO IXs I've ever seen. His EVO IX was probably making a good 350whp or more with that trap speed.

The Sti should have less mods. Its not necessary to have a mbc and intake on an Sti that is practically stage one/two. As a matter of fact it would mess with the car and have adverse effects. He does have protuning with Cobb which is good. He was custom tuned.

Also his STI is on about 20.5PSI, stock they boost around 14PSI I believe.

Thank you, couldn't have said it better, there is a difference in modding a STI and EVO, both cars are pretty much stage II. A filter and MBC makes little difference. There are 07 STI that have more mods and haven't ran as fast as his STI, Hova00 is a very good driver.

Just to give you an idea my 05 Sti with the same mods protuned made 295awhp and 310awtq... The 07s are supposed to make a lot more power though.

Really all he was missing was the filter... The accessport has boost control systems in it. Not sure how well they're set-up but from other boost controlling tune systems it may have actually been much better than the MBC.

I wish we could do 11s with those mods on Evos at this altitude

I agree with you the 07 STI is a big improvement over the previous generation STIs, not just power, but also gearing.

Yeah I know, don't get me wrong, not all IXs will be running 11s with those mods, but the same thing can be said of the STI, not all 07 STI will be running 12.2 w/ a TBE and Protune. I wanted to compare a very good driver w/ two strong running examples of a 06 EVO IX and 07 STI.

Not sure, but I believe he previously had a 03 EVO, switched over to a 04 STi, then to a EVO IX, now back to a 07 STI, maybe next will be a EVO X
