that's a pretty nice deal...find a knowledgable bmw mechanic to inspect it and make sure all the typical issues have been addressed

I agree, $5,000 is way to low, I wouldn't trust it. There seem to be a lot of scams going on with BMWs lately, I would really be careful.

probably a rebadged 318, make sure to get a carfax. I understand the 96+ years had a larger displacement (3.2 liter OBDII vs 3.0 liter ODBI for the 95) A 95 will be easier to modify.

No, a well maintained problemless car like an E36 M3 with even 130k will still be about $10,000 or so. Either it's neglected, unmaintained, needs alot of work (thousands of dollars worth)... no effing way, these cars aren't your Honda Accords.

lol I think some of ya'll are overestimating the value of an older e36 M. A friend is selling a 98 M3/4 with 80k-ish miles for $10k. Its alot newer, somewhat more desirable, alot less miles. $5k is just about right for such an old example with that many miles.

Careful on the 3 - 4 shift at WOT... common problem, tranny and motor torques to the side a bit, you grab 2nd instead of 4th and boom... one of my friends grenaded 2 motors.

They call it the money shift.

I drove my friends '95 m3 and I love the car. Although that price does look shady, beware.
