It's still 295 TQ and doesn't come into 3900. A damn Neon SRT4 makes 250 TQ @ 2200. Have you seen what the new M3 weights LOL.... Don't get me wrong, I love M3's and I'm sure this will be a great car. It's just alot of money and I would've like to seen better results. Time will tell and we'll see how it performs at the track

Speaking in a performance mind set that does not care about being cool and only want to fast be, the new M3 will be an under performer for the price you pay.

I agree, the new engine is nice, but they put it in a heavy boat of a chassis. The engine has been wasted in my opinion.

If you are not a performance enthusiast and all you care about is luxury, prestige and going slow relative to a car that cost about the same price, but offers more performance ala C6 Z06, than this car is for you.

 

Like many have said, performance isn't the only thing that matters, its why I'm selling my car... Sure with slicks on I keep up with stock Carrera GTs around the track and it's lots of fun. But as a sole daily driver there's a fine line... Granted, if I lived somewhere that the weather was always decent I can guarentee I'd be buying a standard used C6 right this very second, snow and corvettes don't mix well.

 

This car just caters to a different demographic that does not care about all out performance.

Well at only 3,460 pounds and the V8 engine is the lightest v8 in the world, weighing less than the previous M3's inline-six, and a carbon fiber roof, so much for those speculations of being heavy. The car is Ridiculious! I haven't been a fan of the newly designed bimmers, minus the new 3 serious coupe and the & 6 series, but this car is beautiful! It's gorgeous from every angle!!!

 

Id love to trade in my 335i for one someday once the Turbo is paid off.
