WRX or STi?

ok...so unlike the Evo (which are all the same thing in HP and such...MR being 6-speed) The WRX and STi have diffrent HP. STi is I think 300 or something and the WRX is like 237 I think...not really sure.

but anyways...is there really any other HUGE diffrence between the STi and WRX besides 6-speed and interior and a few HP, and the big wing?

also, if you wanted to get one, which would you get. Before you ask...basic bolt-ons will be put on the car.

please no bashing subaru or the WRX and STi as I do already have an Evo.

True that. 04-05 are the best looking ones available.

I'm pretty sure alot of the drivetrain is stronger in the STi too, IE axels, diff, ect..

Though I could be wrong..

The STI has a diff and better tranny(stronger 6spd) it has stronger rear axles, diff, front axles are stronger. There is also better springs, struts, control arms, wheels, brakes, center differential, tmic is better, turbos bigger, better heads on the motor

I think thats about it

WRX just because of the sheer amount of money you'd save. Besides, it's fast enough for my taste, although I hear the WRX has horrible lag.

I have a friend that went through this same delima. He ended up buying a wrx. When he was over installing some springs one night I took him for a ride in my STI. It wasnt a week later that he traded in his wrx for a 06 STI. His old wrx was so slow and pathetic ( I cant believe I said that about a subaru ), I thought he was kidding when he said "this is flored". Even a modded wrx is only as good as a stock STI at best. Dont waste time and money on a wrx get the STI.

Sombody said the wrx has so much lag? The real problem is the fact that the wrx doesnt even feel like it has a turbo.

Tough call, I spose the STi.

The STi has better everything except for the bottom end IMO.

I like the EJ20 better than the EJ25. Maybe if you swapped the JDM EJ20 into the STi. I think that would be the way to go.

yea i've driven the 06 wrx with 2.5L and it still felt very laggy and/or without a turbo, it wasn't very impressive....body roll in stock form is insane as well.

if money isn't an issue STi hands down, but of course i'm sure u already know that.

the STi even under 3000rpm is very responsive (even compared to my IX), and the whole car just feels much more focused than the wrx IMHO.

i've driven an 02 with all the bolt-on's on the stock turbo and a stock 06 and an 05 STi with a few bolt-on's.

tr wrx would be $24k out-the-door. dump $6k in custom mods and you have urself a nice whip (go 50/50 appearance/ power mods)
