man i want a terminator so bad sometimes....they look meaner than sh*t and sound freaking awesome under WOT...

i won't take an Evo over one because i enjoy the Evo's all-around performance and practicality better, but damn you just can't go wrong with a 600whp Cobra.

turbo that thing later and get back to us

Here's a vid of the previous owner running a 1/4. I didn't buy the track tires/rims but I still might...

First, congrats! Could be a step up or step down depending on how you look at it. Its an excellent platform to start with and the Terminators make stupid rediculous power with very little money. I started liking the Evo since I started working at Mitsubishi, but a 03/04 has been my dream car for years.

If you want to handle, keep the IRS. It'll wheel hop bad at the strip unless you swap to a solid rear. Check out www.maximummotorsports.com. They have the stuff that'll make that thing handle on ice.

Congrats!!! I'm a big mustang fan here! Almost bought one, but opted for a 4 door having an 8 month old.

There's a guy on the SVTPerformance boards selling a beautiful TT '03 Cobra for something like 28K. Almost 700hp... I'd have bought that if I could.

Interesting trade. I wonder how long it will be before you want the evo back, probably even longer before the new evo owner wants to trade.

The guy I traded with had two and had the same reasons as you for making the trade.

His other Cobra is insane...

I think most domestic vehicles are becoming overpriced compared to the amount of engineering that they have. At least the Corvette keeps the power to the ground with a proper suspension set up. The mustangs need a better suspension setup to keep from breaking loose so much.
What price tag? I traded a nearly stock '05 VIII straight across - the miles were nearly identical. He had probably 60K into this car.

It'll never handle as well as an Evo but, then again, that's not what I wanted. I'm not crazy about it's suspension setup (drag) and will change it.

Turboing sounds cool but, apparently, this blower (Whipple 2.3) is good for up to 1000 hp though I'm sure I'd need more supporting mods than I'm willing to consider. It's current state of tune is very safe so if I want another few ponies they're there for the taking.

Or just pay 24K for one already built w/ 20K miles (like mine).

Not sure (so y'all tell me) but I believe a 600 hp Cobra (built like mine) will be way more reliable than a like-powered Evo.

Flames commence...

From the video it looks like your going to have a hard time keeping it outta the wall at the track.
