Civic SI would be a good DD I think. I've thought about picking one up. It dosen't get the 40 mpg's the base one gets though.

it is, my wife has one and i love it. for $22K, it's hard to beat. it's an all-around good car, decent power, looks good, handles good, nice interior, stereo, reliable and she gets a little over 30mpg mixed driving.

I'd suggest a Mini; but it's also FWD. It's light, roomy and fun to drive from what I've read.

Pocket Rocket FWD's:
GTI, Mini, Mazdaspeed 3, Civic SI

All would be fun to own and get too mpg. What kind of fuel economy you looking for? 2-door, 4-door or hatch? You looking primarily new or would used work?

I'm thinking about dumping my #2 car for a fun little hatch. Besides the Evo, I've got a 98 Accord that pulls 33mpg.

28K is a lot for a daily driver.

I'd get a used Impreza 2.5RS or a Legacy Wagon.

Wait I have a 97 Legacy Wagon for a DD .

One factor to think of is how many miles your work commute is.

28K is a lot for a DD. For me I would get a S2000. Since you have a Evo already, might as well get a topless car that you can cruise to the cost in. But the bad thing is that it'll be a used car.
