Hi my co worker was tellin me he would smoke me at the track in his 2000 SS stock. He told me he ran a 12.7 1/4 mile is that possible in a stock SS i thought it would be in the high 13s in the 1/4.

 

yea he talkin shiiit, especially with stock rear tires, not a chance

I don't think so. I went through the same thing with a Mustang GT. It turned out that he just backed down. Just take him to the track and who him.

 

I dont think 12.7 is a stock ss territory...they could get in the low 13s with good driving but I have never heard about one running around 12.7 stock...Too many people claim they are stock when they're not just to make you feel worse when they beat you...old trick

or....the ss driver is not smart enough

 

I used to work with a guy who had a bone stock one. From a roll it's a hell of a run. You make a mistake forget about it. The same would go for him. Mine was stock at the time also. Never ran standing start so who knows about that.

 

yea he is talking major crap...especially in the warmer south there is no way a stock SS is running under 13s in the 1/4...tell him to show you his slips if he is that proud about his times he will have them still

 

Not saying he would ever do it though.

 

More then likely he ran that time with slicks.
