04 Cobra

What do you guys think about a 2004 cobra with 70k miles for 21k? Its pretty tempting but i dont know about the reliability of this car with so many miles can anyone shed some light on this issue.

I think that's a horrible price - if it were where I live at least.

Last year 03's with nearly any miles were going for < $25k. Nobody wanted them. I'd keep looking personally. Miles are less here since not everyone drives them year-round.

I was close to getting an 03 Cobra with like 25k miles for $22k...

When it comes to the 03/04 Cobras there are a few rather important things to consider. What are the aftermarket modifications? You have to understand that this car can gain an incredible amount of HP&TQ with the smallest of mods. Some being okay and some not okay. Then if it has a tune or not and what kind, a chip or hand held programmer. Then if this programmer is used in conjunction with the MAF. Example SCT has a programable MAF that works brilliantly with the hand held. Then you need to look for mods to the IRS, are there different halfshafts, is there anything done to the IRS subframe assembly and most importantly is there or was there ever a driveshaft safety loop. This will allow you to determine how hard the car was driven as the IRS is the weakest link in these cars when the power is turned up. There are so many variables to consider it is tough to determine what was done to the car in the past. Bottom line 70,000 miles for 21K is not a very good deal no matter how you look at it. Go to some of the Mustang boards like corral.net, modularfords.com, performanceautosport.com you will find some hardcore enthusiats that took great care in modding and driving thier cars. I am a former Cobra and GT owner having had my hands on over 100 Cobras mild to wild you name it. Let me know if I can be of more help but try and find out all of the mods so I can break it down in detail.

God knows what happened in those 71,000 miles man. Pass on that. Look for a clean low milage one.

Depends, as long as it wasnt wrecked and you plan on tearing down the motor and building a fully built one, it would be fine.

Though if you plan on doing the simple mods and arent going for some monster drag street machine, id pass and fine one with few miles.

I would say unless you plan on rebuilding the engine get one with less miles..I know a kid who has one with around 20k miles on it and its silver with black wheels and hoosier slicks...its procharged and making around 800hp its a sick car and they sound mean as hell

I love cobras. They sound incredible. That is too high of mileage. Look online you can find all sorts of them with lower miles for onle a couple thousand more. Save your dough.

Go to svtperformance.com or modularfords.com there are many 550-800whp Cobras for sale this one is my favorite it's the same kit that was on the Cobra that beat Chris's 42R car from a roll and has pushed 900whp at 23psi.

Hey everyone! I have a black 2003 cobra with 31k on the odom. I bought this car in november of 04 with 14k miles. Over 3 years i have put 17k miles on it. The car has been very well taken care of. Winning 2 car shows over the last 3 years. Pictures of it were taken a few months ago for modified mustangs and should be put up in the next few months. I have put about 25k into this car and i know you dont get what you have put into it, but i am going to try and get some. I am looking to get 34,000 obo. (open to offers) New motor was put in at 28,000 miiles. I should of built the motor then, but didnt have the funds.

Car made 684rwhp and 670tq on 15psi 16* max timing. Just made 794rwhp and 760tq on 19.5psi on 110 octane. We didnt adjust anything, just turned up the boost. I have never ran it on the street like that. It never goes above 13psi on pump gas. I am a worry freak about this car. It was tuned by Shawn at AED in San Jose California. He was trained by the best and it shows.

Reason for selling
I've just lost intrest in this car. I have put so much money into it, I need to stop before I keep wanting more and more. My life has just taken a 180! I really dont want to see it go, but i think it would be best for me. My gf started crying when i said i was going to sell it.
