Audi Allroad
Audi Allroad
My g/f is looking to get another car after we get our house
and she wants a wagon...she's setting her eyes on this baby.
The engine is the 2.7T (250hp, same as the old S4 Biturbo), AWD, 6-spd MT/Tiptronic, adjustable ride height (the headlight will self-adjust accordingly
)

The interesting suspension system:
Continental Teves Supplies Suspension to Audi 2001 Allroad Quattro
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Audi AG has selected Continental Teves as the sole supplier of its adjustable air suspension system for the 2001 Allroad Quattro. Making its North American debut this fall, the Audi Allroad Quattro is an all-new crossover vehicle designed to set new performance standards in the emerging off-road-capable luxury class. It was introduced in Europe in March 2000. This new, highly sophisticated four-corner air suspension system is only available from Continental.
The Allroad Quattro's four-position, height adjustable air suspension designed and produced by Continental Teves is state-of-the-art and unique to Audi. It is not offered on any of the Audi Allroad's competitors. Height sensors control air spring struts at each wheel to vary the ride between 5.6 and 8.2 inches. In its highest position, the Allroad Quattro offers more ground clearance than most of its competitors. The lowest ride height is intended for optimum travel at highway speeds. Reducing the vehicle's ground clearance trims aerodynamic drag considerably -- enhancing performance while minimizing excessive fuel consumption at higher speeds. The versatile suspension ensures optimum dynamics when driving at high speeds, as well as a high level of comfort and ample ground clearance when driven off-road. While the intelligent system actually lowers the body in four stages as road speed increases, the driver also can manually select the most suitable ride height with the press of a button on the center console.
Continental Teves' air suspension system is composed of the strut (air spring over shock), height sensor, compressor with integrated air dryer, valve block to modulate the air pressure, a reservoir tank and electronic control unit.
"The height-control of our four-corner air suspension system is a key feature which helps set the Audi Allroad Quattro apart from its competition," said Bill Kozyra, president, Continental Teves N.A. "It is exciting for us at Continental Teves to have our system so closely tied to the branding of this new vehicle."
Continental Teves is manufacturing the system in Gifhorn, Germany, to support Audi's vehicle production in Neckarsulm, Germany.
This is the first four-wheel air suspension system contract awarded to Continental Teves and in production for a vehicle in this class. Other air spring suspension production contracts have included rear axle leveling systems containing two springs on the rear axle.
Continental Teves, headquartered in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, is a unit of Continental AG, Hannover, Germany. With 1999 sales of US $2.6 billion, Continental Teves is a world leader in the design, development and supply of critical brake and chassis systems that contribute to driving safety and comfort. The company's North American headquarters is located in Auburn Hills, Mich.

I'm a big fan of the Allroad. The self adjusting suspension is nice and I love its plastic armor. In person, they are soooo wide but it has great presence. Wish my brother would get one as opposed to a Sequoia...

I also like the wagons!!!!!! The all raod is pretty hot. But also look at the new Volvo s70R. Those volvo wagons are just sooooooo Awsome. I love the style.
Or wait till the VW Toreg comes out. Its not a wagon , but from what I have read is one hell of a vehicle. It also has the air bag suspension.
The all road is about $45-50K .. The Volvo is a much less $39K , plus it has 300hp/300tq. The Vw will be about the same loaded out with the 4.2 v8 from the A6 audis.
Good luck

Mwahaha... the V70R will be hooooot. Saw a thing on that DW TV (German network) auto show and my goodness, I was impressed with its performance and it handled well for being a stout machine.
