Are you kidding me? The features section has a review of Cams, sticky tires, coilovers.... and now a minivan? Something doesn't fit. And not to get on the bad side of the admins but a review (an honest one anyway) generally involves both praise and negative criticism, not just a formatted press release written by Mitsu. Sorry for the harsh words. Please don't suspend my membership.

Well since Mitsubishi is trying to support the site (they do make our lancers and evos) they wanted us to try another model of theirs to see how we liked it. So I figured since some of the members here do drive other cars, it would be nice to put a review of the Outlander.

Also the review isn't a formatted press release. I tried my best to describe everything about the car. The car is great alternative to those who have a heavily modded evo and/or lancer and do have to cart around a family. Also since we do have a "Other Cars" section it fits perfectly.

Plus if someone gave you a car with a free tank of gas for a week, wouldn't you take them up on that???

By the way, when did the Outlander become a Mini Van?

I like the Outlander a lot.

It really provides a lot of features for a good price.

However, Mitsubishi really needs a mid-size sedan to compete (or put a dent) into the Camry / Accord.

The Galant really isn't cutting it.

CVT in an Outlander?

Are you positive that your test car was equipped with a CVT transmission?

I think that's a typo. The Outlanders have a SportTronic transmission. It works similar to the cvt that is on the 08 lancer but has "adaptive" software to learn your driving pattern.

I have an 04 RA and the new Outlander(LS 4WD). I will go ahead and be completelly honest here; the outi is loads more fun to drive than the RA. It would be amazing to see an aftermarket growth for this CUV, this 3.0 v6 has loads of potential far greater than what we saw with the "Evolander". Reviews like theses(specially from evom) can only help the market grow.

Thanks spt.

In Australia we called it the Magna... and now the 380 (but most of the 380's make me cringe to look at)
My first Mitsubishi was a '98 Magna (just the 3.0 V6, not the 3.5... ah to be young again!)

But the Magna's (Diamante's in the USA I think?) were cool! - just ask Mitsiman, he knows!

SO to keep this thread going, I will ask this; what do you guys think of the "evolander" pretty sweet ha!? I wonder if we will ever see aftermarket parts for this gen outi, like a turbo or supercharger, This little motor has tons of room in my opinion, I can't wait to start spanking some of those turboed acuras.

well, i would think that there's a pretty small market for such a thing rally27

the evolander is an interesting concept, but i dont know what will happen with it

it would be cool to tune something like this, it would be super sleeper, but then when it comes down to the money, most people if serious, would probably just get something smaller to work with

I really think the forum would benefit from the addition of other makes and models infused into our tech sections.

Pretty much every car produced by mitsu is inspired and built upon Mitsus rally tradition, so it would be benefitial to the growth of this site to include other Mitsu models such as the New Outlander, not just the Lancers. I know I would be much more active here if that were the case, since the car I currently own is a 2007 Outlander. The recent increase in performance crossover's like the Outlander is making room for a new generation of tunners, the cross over tunners. This class of vehicle may be tons of fun to work and mod with, and the versatillity they provide gives them great popularity. The site could only benefit from adding other Mitsu models.
