I was just reading Car and Driver and can you believe it? The new Forestor is coming out and it's turbo charged. It pulls a 1/4 in 13.8 and a 0-60 in 5.3. Man wouldn't it be embarrising if this thing actually got you at a light with some mom driving and a bunch of groceries in the back!

 

I already got lit up the other day by a "Mom" driving a Porsche Cayenne with kids and groceries and a dog in the back.

 

That's bull**** man. If you're gonna let the kids suckle all day that's fine. I'm all for a housewife. BUT, if you have the nerve to go around racing something you didn't earn you can kiss my ***. You should've acted impressed and friendly and ask her to roll down her window like you're gonna say something cool. Then just as she rolls it down ask: "How do you fit that in the kitchen though?"

Yeah, I'd heard rumors of the turbo forester before actually. Oddly enough, I found myself staring at one in the parking lot at work yesterday and thinking seriously about making one my next car. What the hell is wrong with me?

The 3 major models (Impreza, Legacy and Forester) of Subaru all have a T/C version in Japan. In 2004, all 3 of their US counterparts will received the 2.5 Turbo engine. Legacy is next in line...

 

Now if only Mitsubishi will add a turbo 4g64 and a different front grille to their Outlander

 

Actually, the same also applies to Mitsubishi. Lancer, Galant & Airtrek (Outlander) all have a T/C AWD version overseas. Hopefully, Mitsu will follow the path of Scooby by bring/creating an equivalent model in the US

I just bought the Forester XT. Got in it for a test drive and was blown away. It feels like a muscle car with a big block in it, but it looks like something a soccer mom would drive. I bought it on the spot. The torque is awesome and is avaible right away. No turbo lag at all. It doesn't handle well, but it goes like stink and is a blast to drive ( much more fun than the WRX which had turbo lag that I thought was so severe it was annoying to drive). I really recommend this thing if you're looking for that old muscle car feel and handling isn't a priority. Less than $25,000.
