Cobalt SS
I don't know if I would go that far, it only takes to blow something up in the middle of that race and now he's out an evo.... gutsy, we have nothing to prove, our cars are proven super cars of the era. I have over 500 whp do you think that I even look at the cars that are on the road, I don't even waste my time on the new vettes unless I know they have work done to them..
Be the bigger man and just let it be. Or if you are a very good skilled driver tell him you will give him 3 cars and take him. Thats always pretty embarrassing.

he is type of driver that would blow his car up or ruin the trans and clutch just to prove somthing... he is already dropping clutch at 5,000 and the car is only two weeks old. deff dont have to prove anything to that pos cobalt and evo's are double the cost of maintenance
I actually drove a Cobalt SS the day I got my first Evo and my first thought of the Cobalt was it had great seats (lol). Then I drove it and well I was not impressed at all, 1st gear pulled like a naturally aspriated car not a forced induction. I went throught 3 gears and I just was not impressed. Then I went and picked up my Evo the same day and well.....ooooooooo baby oooooooo.
You have a IX you will walk him even with him having minor bolt ons. They do pull hard on the highway once they are well tuned, but again they might passs a stock VIII or a very very slightly modded VIII with a bad driver. (seen it done locally unfortunately) think the quickest one around here runs a 13.1 or a 13.2 @like 106/108
i had one a 05 supercharged, dynoed 260whp and 245wtq, and it was pretty much maxed out thats why i got rid of it, and wheel hop kills the car. i did, a 13.8@110, comes with 18s and GM custom bolt patterern so you can't put smaller rims.
the car looks good but didnt' live up to what GM said. they are suppose to go turbo next time, same as the soltise and sky.

I don't know why people are saying the Cobalt SS is slow - far from it. Comparing it to the EVO is silly - the Cobalt SS is $20k and the EVO is over $30k. Totally different price range.
The Cobalt SS is priced similar to the Civic Si and it is MUCH faster (I wouldn't consider the Civic Si slow either). Check out Car and Drivers lightning lap where the Cobalt SS was 4-5 seconds faster than the GTI and Civic Si.
As far as quality/interior, I wouldn't say the Cobalt is any better or worse than a Lancer. The performance versions of the Lancer and Cobalt aren't about refinement though - they are made to go fast.
