Project GSX 400.0whp MD dead on (Carlos)
Rob,
As you know me for a few years I am very conservative with my predictions, one of the reasons is because I don't want to tell people things and later on not accomplish them.
I will be at SIR on 31 August for the test and tune. I am aiming for low 12's and a trap speed of 110-115mph but anything beyond that is very welcome.
Mostlikely I will switch to the stocker 16"rims with the stocker 205's, the current set up (Evo9 rims with oem tires ) are 6 pounds heavier per corner(rotational mass).
Since not only the current rims/tires add rotational mass and weight it also creates more drag/friction.
Anyway, thanks for your comments, please tell Gabriel that I am going to race, Evo9girl will take some vido/pics.
Take care Rob!
Carlos

Did you have DSM link when you added these mods?
Then I added Evo III turbo(like a big 16G), FPII cams,MBC,fuel pump,680cc injectors , Evo 8 IC and 3"TB, header and the car did 298whp/269lbtq

WADAD,
Yes indeed, I had the DSMlink at the same time I got the Evo III turbo, exhaust, cams, etc. I later on added the FP3052 turbokit.
Do not do shortcuts, don't get a AFC Apexi, just get a DSM link, the price difference is less than $200 and the capabilities between one and the other is like day and night. There are many many people that don't do it right and try to save a few dollars, the DSM link is the way to go for a intermediate person, the price is just right and the capabilities are endless.

On my first shake down the car did a 12.0@116.15 at SIR (Tucson 3100ft) on a infernal hot night.
I ran the stocker 205/55/16' on the stocker 16x6,0" rims. The car was a magnet to some people trying to figure out the stock looks with performance. This car is totally sleeper, not a single sticker, the exhaust is painted in flat black so it blends with the chasi, the intercooler is painted in flat black so it looks like a radiator and that is why many people were curious to see what I was packing. My external 44mm Tial waste gate left some nasty Echo in my passes.
Had the chance to show my rear license plate to a GSX 750cc and a Camaro SS with a 454 and some intake butterfly sticking out of the hood.
I need to work on my launches, this was my first time to the track with the new set up. I still managed to cut a 1.755 60' on one of the runs with the 205's.
Next trip will be in Phoenix, stay tune for Carlos's adventures.

It was a pleassure compiting against you. First things first, you smoked me on the race we did, my car bogged down and I missed second. you were flying, those DR BF goodwrich 225's works very well on your car...
Later on , I managed to dial in the launches and I managed a 12.1@115 with a 1.8 60' and a 12.0@116 with a 1.7 60'.
You car is another great sleeper, if you were to have the stock hood people wouldn't notice. I like your license plate cover: It is just a Neon!!
John, After I did my 12.0 I was looking for you. Your friend with the silver SRT-4 told me something about the master brake booster?
Anyway, congrats on your new times, you were also very fast, you trapped 118mph right?.

Carlos, when I raced you I blew my vacum line to my brake booster. This resulted in a major loss of boost. I ended up with a 12.5 with a 2.084 60ft time(my best 60 ft of the night). I fixed the car in the parking lot and was going to call it a night but my buddy told me I should run again. Next run I blew the line again, however I still managed a 12.8 at 114mph only boosting between 12-14psi.
My best mph for the night was 118, however had I not had the boost leak issue I'm sure the car would have managed a 12.3 or lower.
Wow, a 12.0 at 116 with a 1.7 60 foot, thats awsome......soooooo close to the 11's at SIR, get your clutch fixed and your there easy.
It was good seeing you again, and you have the ultimate "SLEEPER" in Tucson. Looks like I'm going to have to do my cams soon to keep up...

Your car will hit the times i predicted with more familiarization and the upcoming cooler/less humid weather she'll do it, maybe pass those time. I just based my times comparing dyno readings from the IA dyno knowing my numbers/times so keep me posted on the phoenix, and where is this other track you mentioned? Speedworld? I'm counting down till Nov when i get home.
Carlos! Project looked like a lot of fun, hope you kept the wrench away from your forehead
Wish i was still there so i couldve been a part of it....for the setup itself, SICK! Awesome times too, as always im jealous! Glad you still have a 4g63 in your stable. why didnt we do anything like this to my gst?!?

Yes Tim, you are correct, 12 stiches between my eyebraws does not go unnoticed specially when you were the one that had to pick me up from the ER after I got sewed/sedated.q I put too much force on the pliers and they slipped straight back to my forehead. About 4 weeks ago a similar incident happened to me this time even taking a chunk of hair and skin from my head, I was able to skillfully cover it up with my hair so people at work did not noticed..
As far is your GST. Well, I did your boost gauge, the driver side passenger window fix and the Upper IC pipe..
