Project GSX 400.0whp MD dead on (Carlos)
Hello again, I had many pm from people asking me on the progress of my Eclipse and I have some good updates for you.
The final product is a GSX(Eclipse) runing a FP3052 turbokit from Forced Performance and other supporting mods. Lets rewind back to December06, I got this bone stock car that only had a K&N filter and it put 190whp/208lbtq on a Mustang Dyno on 91oct.
Then I added Evo III turbo(like a big 16G), FPII cams,MBC,fuel pump,680cc injectors , Evo 8 IC and 3"TB, header and the car did 298whp/269lbtq
Then Al came to Tucson and tune my car squeezing an additional 21whp and 64lb/tq with a alcohol kit to put the numbers to 317whp/337tq, again all this on a Mustang Dyno on 91oct.
But you all know the type of sick bastard I am right?, off course I am an addict of automotive and I just couldn't settle with the Evo III turbo so I went and ordered this Turbokit(FP3052).
I applied my experience and effort and fully installed and custom fabricated multiple things to make this turbokit fit, all this in my garage. Finally I took the car to IAperformance and got the car tuned.
Car made 400.0whp and 358lb/tq at 24psi on 91oct. Just for the record and as a coincidence the car was making almost a dead on increment of 20whp gains(roughly) per PSI.
Car was untune and making 270 ish whp and as we started raising the boost it would progresively gain a steady and consistent 20ish whp per PSI, we started at 18psi and finished at 24psi. This turbo can push mid 30'sPSI but obviously I am not internally ready for it.
Unfortunately I had to make a smart decision to abandone the Dyno base on the fact that my eclipse has all the stock internals, basiclally I did not want to keep going.
I don't have forged pistons, I don't have forged rods, my Cranckshaft is not balanced /bluerprint, I don't have any cylinder head job of any kind so I reiterate that I willingly made the decision to stop.
We had absolutely no knock what so ever but again this is a 4G63 engine made under a time frame (95-97)with potencial for crank walk, plus I am a person that always aim for the ultimate street car.
Honestly, I think this car has more potencial but maybe in the future I will re dyno it with some race gas, for now I am happy with a 400whp in a 3100ft elevation at 100 degrees heat on a Mustang dyno at 4 wheels and on 91oct.
Well, I did my part, now I would like to hear your comments
Thanks for reading!

^^^Thanks!! wait until you see the pics of the install. It is kind of uncomprehensible the work that I had to do in my garage to make this turbokit fit:
- Tial wastegate will not clear the oil dipstick by 1.5"
- Turbo compressor side will touch the horizontal 2"metal cooling line that runs the 4G63 block (just below the turbo)
- Intercooler pipes had to be cut, retrimmed and re-route
- Intercooler hoses had to be re route
- oem returning oil lines from the oil filter assy had to be clogged and the thread is the most oddd thread you can have on automotive
- The clearance of this turbo with the stock fans was very minimal, I still rerouted everything(cables, hoses, pipes, connectors) so that it looks very neat
Trust me on this one, I had "fun" puttting this car together on my garage using scrap from all my previous Evos and Eclipses but I am damn proud of it.
Pictures will tell the whole history
, no kiddding but have you guys heard of the say: "done with sweat and blood". Installing such heavy turbokit and holding it with one hand and trying to put the nuts on the header is something that you have to experience. I have no assistance, no helper to pass me a washer or a wrench, this was some "fun" work for real bro.

....And I did, 317whp/337lb/tq on 91oct on a Mustang Dyno. It actually put similar power than my Evo 8 MR with similar mods.
I know I could squeeze more power but I am always aiming for street set up and reliability.

I just posted all the pictures on my link. Before you open the link and check on the turbokit installation please remember to view the pictures in reverse order.

Thanks! I appreciate the rewarding and comforting words.
I will be taking it to the track next Friday but I am not playing loud bells and wissels, I will go to the track with a humble approach
. Car weights 3100lbs, any thought or expectations?
