If you had $13,000 or less to spend on a car...
maybe a 2003 mustang cobra, i heard those are way cheap... check out a b5 audi s4, those are insanely fast and you can buy them used for like 13-15k with a full stage 3 kit (i think good for 11's)
or a 2002-2003 wrx, awd, good daily driver, good gas mileage, decent boltonability
a mk4 gti might be good also

Mustangs can be made to handle well? I saw an 03 in silver with black SSR wheels... looked sick and they sound mean. But SOOOO MANYYYY EVERYWHERREEE
03 Cobra... think $23-25k easily... B5 S4's are the most unreliable piece of crap known to man... and the WRX has a glass drivetrain...

. I didnt even thing about the E36 M3. Great cars and can last well over 200k. Also S4's really arent that bad. The only bad thing is the service at 90k you have to replace the turbos or something like that. Regardless i know it costs around 3k.
In my opinion, keep what you've got for now. You are driving a car that is cheap to operate and maintain.
Keep saving and being responsible with your expenses is key. The longer you wait to buy a nice car the more money you can save, or pay everything completely off (you may have already done that) but being debt-free is the way to go.
The grass is always greener on the other side.

Well if you're looking for something different and fun to drive, I'd recommend the prelude. You get looks and attention all the time:
