There's no demand for the vehicle at that price. I don't care how many countries you've lived in, Skylines don't sell for that much anywhere in the US. You'd have to live somewhere with crazy import tariffs to even come close. After the MotoRex fiasco, there's no way to get a Skyline into the country and make it 50-state legal without building it as a kit car first. Some local regulations (in Florida, for instance) will allow you to import a vehicle, but unfortunately it will not be legal anywhere else. And as far as VIN swapping goes, no one with half a brain (and likely, with money) will want the car to begin with. With high model GTRs selling in the 80k range for the last 6 years, there's no way that any have sold for $200k.
I'll have to eat my words a bit since I do remember hearing a while back about an American (and I think a Brit) paying around $200k for a Nismo Skyline Z-Tune. However, this is hardly a vehicle you could import while in the military for a low cost, legalize, then sell high.

$200,000? Not even close. You can get a street legal BNR34-GTR for around $80k, and one with nearly everything you can think done to it for under $120k. The only loophole you can use to get them into the states and legalized now is to rebuild it as a kit car in Japan, then ship it over, engine-less. There's a company stateside called fast4wheels who is doing just that, and selling them for the prices I've quoted above. A local guy here in the NW bought a pretty nice S15 from them a while back.
I don't think I've EVER heard of a Skyline, no matter the model or condition, selling for more than $130k. You've been extremely misinformed.
Edit: And NO freight specialist can get a car past customs, no matter the size of "tip" you're willing to give him. Seriously, even Bill Gates and Paul Allen have exotic Porsches stuck in customs. I'm thinking that if you can donate a few buildings, fix the monorail for the city of Seattle, and drop a few hundred million into local hospitals, you could afford to pay the freight specialist tip.
Get real, man. The Skyline in the US is a total fanboy vehicle to begin with. If you want real AWD power for a reasonable price, just get an Evo or and STI. With $80k, you could build a killer vehicle that would be nicer than any stock Skyline. If you really want an RB26 powered AWD Nissan, buy yourself an S14, have Full Race perform their R14 conversion (~13k), finish the RB26 swap yourself, and there you go. Unless you live somewhere where you can pick up a stock R32 GTR for under $10k, it's really not worth the effort and cost.

The guy bought it in Japan, that was handbuilt, by another famous Japanese tuner. The car was already worth over $130K. He got a deal because the guy traded in 2 Mercedes and a handbuilt McLaren engine, along with 85k.

$200,000?!?!?!? I highly doubt it. Have you ever thought of going over to the skyline forums and asking them what they paid for their rides? (shipping, smogging, DMV fees, etc.) Thats the most sensible thing to do, SON!

I know this guy who imported a R33 skyline to chicago. He said you have it dismantled in Japan. Send it over in crates of 4 or 5. One for the drivetrain, one for the panels, doors, glass, interior and stuff, one or two of the chassis and wheels, and another for the immagrants who will put it together when you get it here.
You pay much less in total cost because you can rebuild it here and register it as a kit car. I am serious, except for the immagrant thing.
