08 GTS vs 08 Altima 2.5 vs 08 Sentra SER

Need to get something more practical, gonna look at these this weekend. Any pros/cons I don't see? Price-wise I think they are all close.

GTS:
Good - Awesome features, bluetooth, navigation, 650watt stereo, nice aggressive look, fairly roomy, great warranty.
Bad - Barely enough power to get out of it's own way.

Altima 2.5:
Good - Great gas mileage, plenty roomy, Nissan build quality.
Bad - See 100 a day, not real exciting, adding options to match the GTS could get expensive

Sentra SE-R:
Good - Decent power, I like the looks, 6-speed, sort of fun and nimble.
Bad - Childish and small, not sure about the features.

Of those, I would probably lean towards the GTS, but that's without driving them. The Sentra is a little TOO economy for me. The Altima is a great car, but as you already noted, they are EVERYWHERE! What's your price range exactly and maybe we can throw out a few more suggestions?

$20-$22k, don't require premium fuel. I have an Evo now so I'm not expecting anything fast....I'd like to buy new, not used. The more bells, whistles, and "fun to drive" the better.

And yeah, on the warranty, 3/36 on the Nissans, 5/60 + 10/100 powertrain on the GTS.

I saw a new SE-R SpecV yesterday while I was running, I thought it was pretty sharp looking.

Too bad it doesn't get better gas mileage, the Honda Element SC is actually kinda cool. Not some people's cup of tea, but I like it. Would be semi helpful for hauling stuff around too. Probably has enough ground clearance to head down some dirt roads in comfort.

I'm picking up my new GTI MkV in a few minutes.. you might want to look at one of those. They are offering special lease prices right now or 0% financing. Its surprisingly quick, gets great gas mileage, has plenty of room, and its affordable with affordable insurance.

The mitsu warrenty on the evo is a pain because so many people 'race and modd' them. I dont think you will be giving mitsu any reason to void anything on a GTS, Galant, or Outlander. Just a guess though.

I just had a poor experience with little crap going wrong with my last VW (02 Passat W8) and it left a bad taste in my mouth about them. No doubt they have some cool options and nice look. Perhaps I'll give VW another glance. The warranty covers everything, just a pain to keep going to the shop.

Sorry off-topic. I like the Element too. Checkout my bro's Element on 20" DPE's. Yiyah!!!

Go with the GTS....way too many Altima's on the road, and the Sentra just looks boring. Anyhow....it's your money. Good luck!

The more I look at that Element SC the more I kinda like it. Might have to check it out, it's unique. Has an interesting look, I do like the inside, but comparing it to the GTS, it has a less powerful sound system, no nav, no bluetooth, and worse MPG (hwy is 25 vs 29). But, it's got a lot more space. Worth looking at I suppose.
