WRX vs. RSX Type S *Handling*

I am going to be buying myself a bug eye soon and I have a friend with a 2003 Acura RSX Type S. I am insistent that FWD is far inferior to RWD or AWD no matter what the modification. He is getting coilovers for his Type S and feels that he will completely dominate my WRX. What do you guys think?

WRX has coilovers

Type S has coilovers

The RSX is going to handle better.

Trust me. You say road course and neither of you are going to have traction issues, he has better suspension and lighter weight.

Oh and BTW thinking that FWD is inferior despite any modification is extremely naive.

Type S's with coilovers are pretty impressive. Like pwr also mentioned, they are light as hell...amd if your friend is smart he has already made it lighter by removing a few simple things. They can easily get down to 2,7xx pounds. They are decent roll-racers when modded correctly with a good tune.

Sure they are light, but they put down 175fwhp stock at best, the WRX puts down about 200-205AWHP... Stock type S runs a 15 second flat quarter mile... WRX does it in 14.1...

The stock WRX does not put down 205whp stock.

And the WRX can run low 14's thanks to AWD.

Also, you fail to mention that you're talking about HANDLING, NOT ACCELERATION.

Agreed again with pwr...type s's can handle really well. My last car was a Type S and it kicked *** in the handling department.

The RSX will own the bugeye. The RSX is more of a momentum car around the track. If you don't believe me, just take it to an HPDE or open track day. Then you will know for sure.

I had a type-s with Tein SS-p coils and it handled like a dream. I think it will be close though depending on the coilover setups you decide to go with. Type-s may have a couple advantages though.

Ps- Driver is key.

1/4 mile times has nothing to do with handling. And PWR is correct, the RSX handles very well with some suspension work.

My vote goes for the RSX. I already had a 02 WRX and I don't want to even bring my bitter memories from that car.

We are talking handling here, and by the way, the WRX doesn't put 200-205whp.

My vote goes for the Acura.
