WRX vs. RSX Type S *Handling*
I am going to be buying myself a bug eye soon and I have a friend with a 2003 Acura RSX Type S. I am insistent that FWD is far inferior to RWD or AWD no matter what the modification. He is getting coilovers for his Type S and feels that he will completely dominate my WRX. What do you guys think?
WRX has coilovers
Type S has coilovers
WRX has coilovers
Type S has coilovers

Type S's with coilovers are pretty impressive. Like pwr also mentioned, they are light as hell...amd if your friend is smart he has already made it lighter by removing a few simple things. They can easily get down to 2,7xx pounds. They are decent roll-racers when modded correctly with a good tune.

Sure they are light, but they put down 175fwhp stock at best, the WRX puts down about 200-205AWHP... Stock type S runs a 15 second flat quarter mile... WRX does it in 14.1...

And the WRX can run low 14's thanks to AWD.
Also, you fail to mention that you're talking about HANDLING, NOT ACCELERATION.

The RSX will own the bugeye. The RSX is more of a momentum car around the track. If you don't believe me, just take it to an HPDE or open track day. Then you will know for sure.

I had a type-s with Tein SS-p coils and it handled like a dream. I think it will be close though depending on the coilover setups you decide to go with. Type-s may have a couple advantages though.
Ps- Driver is key.

My vote goes for the Acura.
