my buddy saw a 30r evo VIII with cams run a 00 CamaroSS with headers,exhaust and tune at a 20 roll and the camaro pulled. Is it possible i would think the evo would win easily.

Since i know this was all done on a closed course ill reply my man. Alot of F bodies lie in the racing world just to let you know. Alot of factors come into play. Was the evo on pump gas with no meth/alky? Could he drive? What type of ss was it(i know that souds like a weird on but we have a arctic white ss that claims he only had those mods and he out ran my buddies 450rwhp 03 cobra from a roll and come to find out it had been sent to SLP for some like sneaky package or somerthing and the car dynoed 425 to wheels). Oh and anything is possile when (on a closed street course) so never underestimate ANYTHING.

It is likely that the Z was spraying. I ran my Evo against my buddies 00 Z28. I had t/b exhaust, afc, & boost controller. He had full exhaust and the free mods that people do on those cars. We were dead even. He also had a 75 shot on the car, but didn't spray against me. My guess is he was spraying. FWIW, going from a 20mph roll against an LS1 is not a good idea. Bad lag for that Evo and the LS1's have mad top end.

Evo was on pump gas no alky had comp cams. i suspect he's not a horrible driver. camaro DID NOT have NOS. he had headers exhaust tune and rear suspension, automatic. it was the 35th anniversary camaro.

Well with that said then the driver of the evo retarded for going from such a slow roll. Give the ss a few lenghts and go from a stop A, B brake boost, C Driver mod, D Get a better tune on pump because theres no way in H*ll that ss shoud have won.

i was figuring the evo had turbo lag because it was more of like a 17 roll. once they got side by side, honked 3 times and went (on a closed course of course). the evo never got at the side of the camaro it was steadily ahead and beat it by 2 cars after 80.

Ok if that is the case the EVO has something wrong with it. A camaro with a tune and exhast may make 330 rwhp and the evo should be making 400 awhp so someone tell me whats wrong with this picture.

You want some numbers for reference? The top list are some of the best bolt on + cam times. The bottom list is bolt ons. A low boost 30R very well could lose if not driven perfectly.

Huh? No LS1 will ever runs 10s with headers, exhaust, tune and rear suspension, as the only mods so I don't know what the purpose of posting this list is. I don't know, anything can happend on the streets and going from a slow roll like 20mph plays into the Camaro's advantage. I am not sure what speeds the race went till, but eventually the EVO would have pulled.

A 30R pump gas EVO should be around 390 to 420whp (some make more) that is more than enough power to take out a LS1 with headers, exhaust, tune, and rear suspension, as only mods. But hey anything can happend on the streets, a poor driver can make a fast car look slow.

 

Clearly, the Evo might be able to Drive, but not Race. Has he ever heard of brake boosting? Theres no way in hell that camero should have beat him by 2 cars!? Specially an Auto at that!
